Moon roared in frustration, it was so hard to concentrate. Her head pounded and a darkness was edging at her mind, occasionally bursting through her barriers. It would slightly gain control before she shoved it back out again.

She knew that the closer she got to the mountain the harder it would be to fight. She sat on the edge of the rapids, watching random dragons walk around freely. Moon hated how they had to hide themselves from regular peoples views, so as not to be slaughtered.

((Warriors by Imagine Dragons. I changed some of the lyrics on purpose))
"As a child, I would wait,
And watch from far away,
But I always knew, I'd be the one,
To work while they all play.

And I, I'd lay, awake at night and scheme,
Of all the things,
That I would change,
But it was just a dream.

Here I am,
Can't turn away, now.
I am the warrior,
That built this town.

Here I am,
Can't turn away, now.
I am the warrior,
That built this town,
From dust.

The time has come,
That I will have to rise,
Above the rest, improve myself.
My spirit never dies.

Farewell, I've gone, to take my throne above.
But don't weep for me,
Cause this will be,
The labor of my love.

Here we are,
Can't turn away, now.
We are the warriors,
That built this town.

Here we are,
Can't turn away, now.
We are the warriors,
That built this town,
From dust."

By the time she stopped singing darkness had fallen. The gentle night breeze brushed against her pale and clammy skin.

She unfurled her wings and launched into the hair, flapping hard to gain altitude before gliding a few feet above the grass. The only sound she made was they occasional swooshing of her light blue membranes.

As silent as a ghost, she flew to the place that dwarves smelled the strongest.

"Well this isn't a house," she commented vaguely, because it wasn't. It was an armory. She heard a crash from inside and breathed and irritated sigh. The guards of Laketown rushed towards the clatter and she rolled her eyes.

"Game plan, Moon. What's the game plan," she whispered to herself, her wings rustling as she thought.

"Got it! I'll wait it out! If they get thrown in jail, I'll make fun of them.... and break them out. Who am I talking to...?"

She watched as the dwarves were dragged to the Masters house. Gosh she hated him. He was just so.... disgusting. He was just intentionally disgusting.

She glided through the shadows onto the Masters roof. Thorin looked up at her and said loudly,"Moon- what are you doing?"

She face-palmed. "Always the loud-mouth weren't you," she giggled, drifting down to stand next to him.

"Not until I met you," he grumbled.

"Oh ha ha ha," she said sarcastically, kissing his cheek and walking out of the crowd.

"What just happened?" whispered Kili to Fili.

"I have no idea," answered Fili, wincing in pain.

"Those two need to sort out their priorities," mumbled Dwalin.

"Agreed," said Balin.

Meanwhile, Moon was flouncing along the docks, her wings outstretched in straight lines behind her.

"Moon!" gasped a voice from a doorway. She whipped around to see an old a frail woman that was absolutely adorable.

"Uuuuuhhhhhh, that's me..." chuckled Moon nervously, slightly creeped out.

"Don't you remember me?"

"I-I-I don't think so...?" said Moon, her voice jumping octaves.

The old woman looked ready to burst into tears. "It's me. Aunt Dani."

Moon's eyes went wide. "A-Aunt Dani!" she cried, rushing to the woman. "You're so old!" She remembered waist-length black hair that fell in little ringlets like her own. Deep blue eyes that matched her mothers, and full, pink lips. Full curves and a perfect posture. A woman who was so strong and independent. Only a little sterner than her mother. Now, a withered and hunched woman with gray, flyaway hair and a grief-worn face stood in her place.

"As you should be," said Aunt Dani kindly, ushering Moon inside.

"W-What do you mean?"

"Moon, you haven't aged a day since you were eighteen. Believe me, I know, because it was the last time I saw you."

"I-I'm sorry. I should have come back. I-I was just so ashamed, and the prophecy-!"

"Hush, child. We need not talk of those things now."

"Yes, we do," said Moon as she sat in a chair at the dining room table.

Aunt Dani heaved a sigh. "When are you going to tell them?"

Moon closed her eyes. "I do not know. Maybe tonight?"

Danielle gave her a sad smile. "You must tell them before you reach the mountain."

"I know."

They sat in silence for a moment before Moon said,"Do you remember what she was like? It has been so long, I have quite forgotten."

Aunt Dani pulled Moon's chair next to hers. "She was a lot like you. You look just like her, same personality too. She had long, wavy blonde hair that ended mid-thigh in little ringlets. She had deep blue eyes and was always happy, or always tried to be. She always went with her heart, never her brain."

"I have another question, Aunt Dani," said Moon softly.

Aunt Dani let out a chuckle. "It's about Oakenshield, isn't it. You know what I say!" said Aunt Dani, picking Moon up by the arm. She flung open the front door. "Stop moping and go and get him!" she laughed, basically kicking Moon out.

"I think you're right!"

"I'm always right!" said Old Danielle Winters, throwing fish at Moon. "Go! Go get him!" she cried.

Moon laughed gleefully and sprinted off down the docks.

"See ya, Aunt Dani!"

"I'll see ya, Moon!"
