"That is if you want to get out of this alive!" She warns me with the look of fear in her eyes.

"What do you mean?" I ask her as I pull my hand away from hers and a smile spread on her face.

"Watch it girl!" She remarks to me as I hold my hands by my side, "I was just as naive as you when the curse took me. That's what it does!" She explains to me angrily. "It takes naive girls and mysterious and secretive boys and forces them to change!" She says through her pained eyes as I can't help but feel sorry for her.

Did she really lose everything to the curse? And the even bigger question that dwelled on my mind, could this be me?

"What do you mean?" I repeat myself as she sighs. "How did you disappear?" I ask her as she stays silent. "And more importantly, why didn't you go back home?" I bombard her with my questions as her blank expression twist into a smirk. "Thealen Evans? Patrick Morris? Why me and Nathaniel?" I ask aloud, hoping to find some kind of link as the sound of her chuckles break the silence.

"I was a sophomore when I was taken, he was a junior. I hated him!" She declares as she reminisces. "He always talked down to me, it was prom. I had thrown the punch bowl at him and her was chasing me, he chased me all the way to the interstate. Then....." she trails off as I wait, wait for her to gather enough strength to finally admit what happened. "Then out of nowhere a semi" she says as I gasp. "It was all my fault" she blames as I empathize with her.

"It wasn't" I say, taking her hand in mine, comforting her.

"He was livid, he didn't want anything to do with me when he woke up. He did everything to try and forget me. Then he kissed me, and all was forgotten. We were in a new place, and he finally had the courage to move on from me, he died in a world that wasn't his." She tells me as my heart shatters at the story. "I never thought you and that boy Nathaniel would get as far as you got!" She finally admits to me as I ponder how did we even get out?

"How can we stop this curse?" I ask her as she snickers at my question.

"The curse will never die!" Her words crush me as I realize the full reality of this curse. No matter how much I wanted out of this curse both me and Nathaniel's life depended on it. "It enacts every 50 years Francesca! It will awaken again" she says as I truly see how cold fate can be. "And after you it will strike again, and you can do nothing about it" her truth speaks to me.

"But we are already home! We are safe!" I break the exciting news as she all she can answer me with is one harden, cold sigh.

"Not for long" she confesses as I furrow my eyebrows in fear for what is to come out of her mouth next. "This is not permanent Francesca! To think you won't disappear again is foolish, the curse will take everything from you and then consume you. It can make you insane, sick, disappear or even death. I was lucky"she preaches to me. "I'm still alive" her truth consumes me.

I could see through her eyes she really did care. She was a victim, and I had to break this curse, defeat it, for her.

"I really do have no other choice" I finally admit as a smirk appears on her face.

"You are right" she agrees with me as I sit down on the kitchen chair and let out a deep sigh as I turn back around, expecting to see the women again but instead I'm meet with a empty kitchen.

"She's right" I whisper to myself as the doorbell rings.

Standing up, starting the walk to the door I found myself thinking about Nathaniel again. Part of me wanted to quit, give up on the curse and him but the part that kept the memories of my mother gave me strength, hope to regain it all.

"Francesca" Zela greets me as I open the door to see her standing in the porch. "I'm sorry" she stumbles over her pride as I smile at her small doing.

"I'm not a bastard, or a home wrecking result! I'm a damn person Zela" I confront her as she just nods.

"I know" she says, "But I grew up brain washed my half sister ruined my family. I really should have given you a chance." She tells me as without any words I pull her into a hug. I could tell she wasn't use to the small gesture, at first she silently resisted but after a few second she caved, her arms wrapping around my back.

"I missed you" I whisper into her ear as I can feel the smirk appearing on her face from my confession.

"I missed you too" she replies through her smirk as I chuckle as I pull away.

"But you have to help me with one thing" I tell her as she goes silent. "We have a gala to attend" I tell her as her hands clap with glee. "And you are going to help me get the guy" I tell her as her smile expands.

"What guy is it?" She ask me as I smirk at the thought of him.

"The mayor's son" I admit to her as all I can think about is my resilience.

I wasn't going to give up! So many things were taken from me, and many of them couldn't be brought back, this could. I would beat this curse and survive. I was no stranger to pain, but this was something I could defeat.

The shady mayor was nothing, Nathaniel would remember, if not I would make him!
