That snapped her out of her trance and she took off running out the back door. "Jennifer," Luke yelled taking off after her. She just kept running like the devil was behind her. She ran into the woods and kept running further and further into them. She tripped over some roots and hurried to get back up. She was panting and her chest burned but she had to keep going. She got to her feet and stumbled. It was hard to breathe but she had to get away.

"Stop Cupcake," Luke gasped as he dropped down in front of her.

"Goddamn ninja," She gasped as she fell back on her ass. "I have to go."

"No you dont Cupcake," Luke said as he came over to her.

"Yes I do," She shook as he pulled her to her feet.

"Im sorry Lucian but I have to," she said as she kicked his shin and took off running again.

"Jennifer wait," Luke called out. She could hear him getting closer so she pushed even more.

She stumbled but caught her balance and kept running. Seeing a clearing she ran towards it but then tried to stop when she realized it was an embankment with the river roaring underneath.

"Stop Cupcake," Luke said catching his breath. "The edge isnt safe, come back."

"I cant Lucian, I cant go back," She shook her head. "He will kill me when he finds me."

"No he wont," Luke shook his head. "We can protect you."

"I wish you could but you cant," Jennifer sighed and shook her head. Luke took a step to her so she took a step back. "Dont Lucian, just let me go into hiding."

"But then I wouldnt have my Cupcake," Luke pouted and she smiled softly.

"You are such a player," She shook her head. "You call all the girls Cupcake, dont play me."

"I do not," Luke looked offended. "Tell me who else I have called Cupcake? Tell me who else North calls Baby or Victor calls Princess or Gabe calls Trouble or all the other names my brothers call you."

Jennifer thought about it for a minute then shook her head, "Im not stupid Lucian, I know you call other girls nicknames, especially when you are out on assignment with bird teams. Just because Im not in the Academy doesnt mean I dont know how it works."

"Youre wrong Cupcake," Luke shook his head. "Youre the only bird with a nickname. You are special to all of us."

"You mean Im special because I am the only female friend you have outside of the Academy," She rolled her eyes.

"No," Luke shook his head and took another step to her. She took another step back and the embankment broke sending her down to the river. "Jennifer!" He yelled as she fell into the river and began to be swept away. Nathan dashed past and dived into the river. North pulled Luke back and they rushed down to where the river was flowing slower and the rest of the team was waiting.

What seemed like hours but was really just minutes they spotted Nathan swimming while holding an unconscious Jennifer. Silas rushed in and grabbed her. "She hit her head on a rock," Nathan said as he stood and began to walk out.

Sean began CPR while Kota began bandaging the cut on her head. She began coughing up water so Kota helped her roll over so she could get it all out. "Easy Pookie," Sean said softly.

She looked up at him then rolled her eyes back and passed out. "Lets get her to the hospital," Sean said as they stood. North carefully picked her up and Luke held her hand.

Jennifer groaned and held her head, "There she is," a deep voice said sending shivers through her body. "Victor," She groaned.

"How are you feeling Princess?" he asked moving her hands away from her head.

"Like shit," She said refusing to open her eyes. "Damn I liked those clothes," she muttered when she realized she was in a hospital gown.

"Gabriel has already gotten you more, Princess," Victor chuckled.

"You are too good to me," She sighed.

"Thats not true," Victor smiled softly.

"How is our girl doing?" Sean asked coming into the room.

"She remembers my name," Victor said as the rest of the team came in.

"Damn Sean thats fucking bright," She glared as he shown the flashlight in her eyes.

"I think its safe to say she doesnt have a concussion and suffering from any form of amnesia," Sean chuckled. "Sorry Pookie, its just procedure."

"Yeah whatever, when can I leave?" She asked in frustration.

"Not for a couple of days," Owen said.

"What?" she panicked. "No I have to leave."

"Well its not going to happen," Sean shook his head. "I have to supervise you for a couple days in case you show signs of dry drowning or a late concussion from the bump on your head."

"Im fine if I can remember all of you," She glared and went to remove the blanket but North and Silas prevented her from doing so. "Let me go," she said through clenched teeth.

"No," Axel said shaking his head. "Doc said you need to be supervised so you are staying here, end of discussion."
