Moon Twenty Two

“Ok everyone, first of all I would like to thank you for coming,” I stared up at Bronson who happily held the whiteboard marker in his hand; whiteboard behind him. I turned to glance at Rhys who was playing some strange hand game with Tony; Maxene had her arms folded across her chest.

It had been hard to convince Bronson to let come to the meeting, let alone into the library. He’d entered inspector mode and listed all the health code violations he would be making if he let her in. My ability to hold him up by the collar of his shirt and keep him suspended in the air proved to be too much and he relented.

“Now, we all know why we are here right?” Bronson leaned in as if he expected us to answer back with obedience, we all just nodded.

“Well basically the plan is to defeat the notorious Ruben,” he said writing the name in the middle of the board.

“So what I want to know is, how are we going to get rid of him and his pack?”

“Guns,” Rhys suggested, Tony punched him in the arm, Rhys was a werewolf but this didn’t make it any better that he suggested it.

“With surprise and decent,” Maxene said twirling hair around her finger, bouncing her eyebrows up and down at Bronson. I watched him go hot under the collar and rolled my eyes at them both.

“Mm, possibly yes,” Bronson agreed lifting his collar, “anyone else?”

“With a plan,” I stated blankly.

“Correct,” Bronson said drawing a line and then writing the word plan from it, “we need an attack strategy that will effectively wipe them out.”

“Well how many of them are there?” Rhys asked.

“I’d say maybe ten to twenty at the most,” Tony answered. I heard him and Maxene curse and I wanted to as well.

“Alright, so there is…” He spent a moment counting silently, “five of us… Which means we are outnumbered; ok any ideas people?”

“Well, I might know some people,” Tony said, “triplets which can be of service to us. I’ll give them a call and let you know.” Bronson nodded.

“Ok so then we will have eight, right we still need… Hmm two more; anyone know of anyone who could be of use.” Everyone was quiet until I spoke up.

“There’s someone I might know,” I said, “but I would have to ask her first.”

“Her?” Maxene demanded turning in her seat to me, “who’s her?”

“Hey last time I checked my personal life was none of your business!”

“None of my?! Well excuse me for being angry!”

“Angry?! Who gave you the right to be angry about this?!”

“Now look here Cole…”

“Butt out Tony! Let me tell this hooker how it really is!”

“Cole what did I….?”

“ENOUGH of this bickering,” we all turned to Bronson whose face was red from yelling. We all moved back into our seats; our eyes plastered on him. He shook his head at us, tutting.

“Children, that’s the only way to describe how you all acted,” he focused on Maxene.

“Your fling with Cole is not to be discussed at this meeting or around me, I’d rather not know of the affairs of women I am currently attracted to.” Maxene folded her arms in her chest, breathing out silently. He turned to me next.
