"Sister, are you looking at the window again?", a little girl asked the older girl who keeps looking through the windows.

The older girl smiled and patted the little girl's head.

"Sister, why do you look so sad?"

The little girl noticed every time this sister always looks down after she looks out the window.

She bit her lips.

"Do you not like it here anymore? Do you also wish to be adopted like Brother Jake and Sister Ana too?"

The little girl tightened her hold of her teddy bear and started to cry. With a shaky voice, she continued: " Will you leave Rachel too?"

"Of course not!"

The older girl became flustered and proceeded to try and calm the little girl down.

" How could this sister have the heart to leave you behind?", she bent down and held the little girl's shoulders.

The little girl sniffed and looked at her flustered sister.

"Sister, you look like the sun.", she quickly smiled and wiped her tears away.

Upon hearing this, the older sister widened her eyes for a second before giving out a helpless smile.

She pinched the little girl's nose.

"ouch!", the little girl rubbed her nose.

"You are so silly", she patted the little girl's head.

She looked back through the windows with meaningful eyes.

I can always wait.

My name was Sol. It means 'sun'.

I was a normal boy who dreamed of becoming like my uncle.

I saw him having a friendly fight with his coworker once. The way the move, the way they fight. It was very cool!

My parents seperated and I live under the care of my uncle. He never specified what exactly his job was but I suspected he was some secret superspy.

One time, I got too carried away.

I touched his things that was never meant to be touched.

I touched his gun.

My uncle caught me touching his things and right before I knew it, I fired the gun at him out of alarm.

Thankfully, he didn't die.

But it he was extremely angry.

We weren't that close actually. He just gives me enough necessities to live but our relationship is just that. I had to admire him from afar. He never showed an angry expression but at that time, his look was so scary while holding his bleeding arm.

However, although he looked furious, he told me what I thought was my dream come true calmly: "I'll help you become like me."

I got super excited I told all my friends about it. Little did I know that that day would be the last time I'll ever see them.

My uncle drove me far away into what I thought as a secret location.

...and the day of my doom started.

I remember him whisper to me: " If you die, don't blame me."

The cave got strange people. I was told to go through the first tunnel and..

I was shocked to see fellow kids my age...fighting each other to death.

I was told we had to kill one person in order to pass.

I gained friends and got betrayed multiple times. The place was extremely harsh. Food was scarce and like scavengers, we had to hunt.

Some kids even went insane to the point of resulting to cannibalism.

By luck, I managed to survive. I tried trusting more people but ended up in vain.

My first kill? I don't even remember. What I know I was that I no longer had plans to get out.

I never hated any of my friends who betrayed me. I feel their pain.

I can't even blame my uncle too. He was right. It was my fault. I couldn't blame him.

This was what I asked for. This was my..dream.

I wanted to atone for my mistakes.

I figured out I could do it by helping other kids too. I don't know what was waiting on the next tunnels but, I'm sure it wouldn't be any less traumatizing.

Going out? Hah. Who would believe that bull.

So, I wanted to end their suffering as early as possible.

For four years, I stayed there. I never went out to pass a dead body I killed.

I target new kids, console them a little, and finally end them at once. Well, some were a bit hard headed so I had to be a little harsher.

They didn't understand. I did this for them.

And I plan to continue doing this for as long as I could.

For four years, my skills had grown. I finally felt like I could do the same moves my uncle did back then.

But I didn't feel like I am cool that way I used to think I would.

But then...

This little girl came.

Girls were extremely rare to be able to come to this place.

For four years I only met two. That one who immediately got killed on her first day, and this one who immediately killed someone on her first day.

She was scary.

...scarily cool.

The way she aim to kill me was scary. She's got no hesitations and her moves were precise. But she was extremely cool.

Her eyes was clear. I could not see a hint of bitterness.

It got me rethinking.

Can someone be so cool without getting crumbled up and twisted?

She killed me with such precision that I couldn't even feel any pain at all.

Thankyou

I wanted to tell her that.

I may have suffered enough already.

I watched as she ran towards the boy who was about to give up.

So, that's the way to save others...

I may have misinterpreted it and did it the wrong way...

My name was Sol. It means the sun.

...and I was so lucky I finally saw a light before I died.
