I walked back into the party knowing exactly what I should do. The problem was that I wasn't sure it was what I wanted to do.
Harry was stuck with Lexi for the next couple of months at least and I was also contractually obliged to be with Simon for at least a few months. I couldn't keep sneaking off with Harry, especially with Lexi almost catching us more than once.
Even if Harry made my heart race ten times faster than normal.
The right decision was to pursue my feelings towards Simon and to let Harry know about it. So if it was the right decision why did I feel like this?
I saw Simon sitting on the couch and went to sit next to him. He smiled up at me as I sat down and put an arm around me, pulling me closer to him.
"How are you feeling beautiful?" He asked and my heart was heavy with guilt.
"Better now." I replied and gave him a small smile before looking around the room. The party was still raging and it didn't take me long to spot Harry. He was sitting on the kitchen counter drinking straight out of a wine bottle and already looking over at me.
I knew it was almost impossible to tell him my decision from just looking at him but somehow he seemed to understand because he nodded and finished the rest of the wine in one gulp.
"Let's get fucking plastered boys!" He yelled out and a small group of guys surrounding him started cheering.
I sighed as I watched him finish drink after drink throughout the night until he was completely written off.
Lexi tried her luck with him but Harry wasn't interested in kissing her or anything of the sort and I saw her leave the party in a huff. She made sure to glare at me on her way out.
I wanted to devote my attention to Simon, I really did, but while Harry was in the state he was in I couldn't help but keep looking out for him throughout the night to make sure he was okay.
Once Simon had to leave my side to go to the bathroom I took my chance and went straight to Harry.
He was leaning over the table trying to hold his own weight up and struggling.
"Hey hey hey, come on." I said and let him lean his weight on me as I helped him walk.
"Where's your bedroom?" I asked and he groaned as he tried to steer us towards a door. He was quite heavy when he wasn't in control of his body and I was struggling under his weight when Cal joined us.
"Fucking hell he's a wreck tonight, you got that arm lass?" He asked as he grabbed Harry's other arm and helped get him into his room.
"Come on, come on." He said as we took Harry straight through the room into his ensuite.
"Honestly I didn't think it was possible for Harry to throw up from drinking anymore but here we are." Cal added as we placed Harry down next to the toilet and he leaned his weight onto the bowl.
After a few minutes we found out that Harry could definitely throw up as the entire contents of his stomach were launched into the toilet bowl.
I softly rubbed my hand on his back trying to comfort him as he leaned against the toilet and he reached out for my other hand.
I looked at Cal with unease as Harry held onto my hand and I gave him a lighthearted shrug as if what was happening was completely innocent.
"Well he's not living this one down!" Cal said with a laugh and I joined in.
We both helped to clean Harry up and tucked him into bed, Cal laughing at the way Harry's vacant eyes wouldn't stray from my face.
"He looks like a starstruck teenager! Look at the way he's looking at you!" He joked and I laughed as though I hadn't noticed.
"I'm gonna go grab him some water." Cal said as he left the room and I took the opportunity to sit on the bed next to Harry.
I ran a hand through his hair and watched as his expression softened and his eyes started to close. He looked perfect, even though I knew how inebriated he was.
I looked around to make sure we were alone before placing a soft kiss on his forehead. He slowly smiled and started to say something.
"Hailey." Was all he managed to say before drifting off to sleep and I smiled down at him while still letting my hands comb softly through his hair.
Cal came back and gave me a funny look before placing the glass of water down next to Harry's bed.
"Simon's looking for you by the way." He said and I made my way out of Harry's bedroom.
Simon was in the kitchen talking to a few people when I returned and he quickly ended the conversation to pull me aside.
"Hey I'm quite keen to leave if you wanted to join. Do you want to stay at mine tonight?" He asked and I hesitated for a moment before saying yes.
Harry was not the right choice, Simon was.
At least that's what I had to tell myself over and over again to feel better about leaving with Simon.
