"You have to stop..."(month 4)

"Hey..." Lorraine slowly sat beside her husband." Hi. How are you feeling?" Lorraine snorts." You're the one who got thrown by a spirit and you're asking me if I'm okay?" They both chuckle." Well, I'm not the one carrying a child in my stomach,And with one who always makes you sick.I'm fine just a few scratches that's all." Ed lifted up his shirt to reveal deep cuts in his back."Darling..." she ran her hand down his back, Ed hissing at the contact." It's not that bad, I promise. You don't need to work up yourself, that's not good for you or the baby." Ed slowly lowered his shirt. Her eyes frowned again.

" Ed, you have to stop. I'm not talking about leaving this family to fend for themselves . But after this you have to stop. Please,just until I've had this baby and healed." Ed cupped Lorraine's face." Hey, it's okay. I'm right here,but I just need to help people while I can. 1 more month,maybe even less than that and I'll be here with you and the kids." Ed tried to ease her,but it still didn't work.

"Alright Mr.Warren,It says that you should be able to be discharged from your room by this afternoon. We need to bandage your back and run blood tests,but nothing major. I would advise five days max before you even decide to go back to work. Let everyone else around you do the heavy lifting."

His doctor explained." Mrs Warren, make she he is light on himself this week. Keep the closest eye on him. Just take it easy for now,okay?" He says and they both nod.

A hour or so passed. While they waited for discharge papers,small talk was made from the nurses about family if this baby was their first and what's the gender and due date." No, this is not our first. We have an almost ten year old, Judy." Ed responded." And as for du date, February 12th and the gender is a secret that only Ed and I know." Lorraine winks slightly,tugging at her blue shirt." We're so excited." Ed smiles happily at his wife. "Congratulations! I think I already know just by looking at you, Mrs Warren." Intrigued, Lorraine listens to the nurse." Your bump is facing lower towards the bottom instead of higher. I'll get the papers" The nurse smiles and walks out. Finally, they were returning back to Monroe.

" Do you think she actually knew?" He asked,turning towards her." Probably, she's seen hundreds of pregnant women. I can't believe I'm starting to show." Her hands rest on the sides of her stomach." I know, this one is already getting so big." He paused,"Hey, do you remember that wacky dream I told you about after we had got married?" Ed looked up to his wife,hands still resting on her bump." The one where you said you would pin me to the wall? Because I'm pretty sure that's how we got to this." Lorraine chuckled." No, but That dream was fulfilled perfectly," he chuckled." The one where I said we'd have kids, plural, then work by each other side all of the time." They beamed at how perfect they dreamed their marriage would be, and how it's even better.

" I just wanted to say that this is more than I'll ever need in life and it's all because of you." He kissed her cheek genuinely." And I can't wait to bring this baby into the world with you. Just let me finish helping these people. Let me help them have they life that they want, please. And I promise these last few cases will the only cases I'll take without having your hand in mine." He pleaded. She sighed deeply, piercing eyes staring into his." Promise me that if it's too much you'll stop?" She asks,he nods.

"You're lucky you're handsome." She rolls her eyes and kisses him. Suddenly, a thump from Lorraine's belly interrupts them." What was that?" She asks. "I don't know it came from you!" He exclaims. Thump.

" I think...that was the baby's first kick." She beams up at him. Excitement covers his face as they cluster their hands on Lorraine's stomach. Thump." There it was again!" She exclaimed." This means, that's our baby is in there. We actually made this happen." Ed said softly. Gently, he rolled up her sweater a little just to feel her skin and kneeled." Hi there,baby." He said,leaning is head towards her belly button. The kicks got stronger against his
jawline.

"Yeah, that's it. It's me, daddy! I'm right here." He rubbed her stomach soothingly in circles." You are such a softie." Lorraine commented, running her fingers through his hair." Hey, it rubs off when your wife is the sweetest person you know." He looked up at her, slowly rising up to a stance.

"Guess so." She beamed again.
