Ed's eyes opened slowly, adjusting to the light peeping through the motel room. Lorraine slept quietly next to him, snoring softly. He loved when he'd wake up before Lorraine. He could just watch her sleep, no stress in her mind. He pulled her closer and played with her hair for a while, savoring the moment before he'd be gone for days and leave her again. It made him feel guilty when he had to leave.

This whole pregnancy, she's had to deal with all the sickness and hormones by herself and he felt terrible about it. It made him feel like a terrible dad and husband. But he knew he was keeping his family safe.Lorraine's eyes fluttered open, a lazy smile spreading across her face.

"Morning, my beautiful girl ." Ed greeted, causing her to blush." Morning, baby." She kisses him sweetly." What time is it?" She yawned out, stretching her body." Barely 7:00. How was our sweet baby?" He rubbed a thumb over over Lorraine's growing belly." I only had to get up once. They let mommy sleep good and I am so thankful. I thought they'd keep me up all night. What time do you have to leave?" She asked, moving her body closer to him." Around 9, their house is about thirty minutes away. What time are you going back home?" He asked." Whenever you leave. If you're not back later, I'll stay home. I just need to go back because I'm getting blood work done and another quick ultrasound.I also wanna check on Judy. I promised her ice cream after we go see the baby." Ed frowned again.

"I'm sorry I'm gone so much. Judy is growing up so fast and we don't have much longer until this baby is here. And I have barely gotten to see the baby...I wish time wasn't so against us all the time." He looked at her, saddened.

"I promise we're not mad. This family needs help, the woman is in the same boat I'm in. It's not fun losing a child, and the thought of it is even worse. I'll bring back pictures and you can hopefully come to my follow up appointment in a few weeks." He smiled sadly.

" Oh hon, I love you so much. I'm so glad you're staying for a while with me. Let's just go back to sleep." Ed suggested." That'd be nice, but this baby is wide awake. I'm guessing that they want food. I saw a burger stand not too far away from here, I have an extreme craving for fries right now." Ed's eyebrows furrowed at the random comment.

" Fries? It's still morning, honey." He chuckled." I know, I know. But I'm not the one calling the shots here." Lorraine eyes glare to her growing belly." If you want fries at 7:24 in the morning, then we'll get fries. But, I still want breakfast" He helped Lorraine up to a standing position.

Breakfast was through and it was finally time for the Warrens to head off. " I'm gonna miss you so much. You sure you'll be okay?" Ed asks, still worried." Of course. I'll call you after the appointment." Lorraine falls into Ed's embrace, a kiss melting from her lips." I love you," Ed places his hand on the top of her stomach." And you! Be on your best behavior today. Try not to give your mom a hard time.Love you both so much, tell Judy I miss her." Lorraine smiles. "It's already 8:38! You might Not want to be late." She says as she playfully pushes him out the door.

Lorraine finds an exceptional outfit to match her husband who'd already left half an hour ago. She observes it. The maroon turtleneck doesn't make it look like she's pregnant in the front, but also give her bump nice definition when she turns to the side. She finishes the look off with her black pants, a cardigan, and black flats. She decides to wear her hair, which had grown rapidly from her pregnancy, straightened and down . She plays with her Rosemary in the mirror, not even completely sure what she was anxious about.

"Hi love bug!" Lorraine greeted, kissing Judy's cheek." Hi mama! Hi baby!" Judy had finally warmed up to the idea that she'd have another sibling. At first, Judy was scared, she didn't know what a big sister did. She'd heard her friends talk about it,but it never effected her since she was told she was most likely going to be the only child. She also knew about miscarriages, and that's what happened to her mom and that's why she never got to meet her older brother . Despite the fear, the idea of being able to help her parents out with her sibling excited her.
