"And how was this for you, Lorraine? Was this case very strongly tied to your clairvoyance or did you just kind of get to lay back and let the visions work the magic?" The interviewer's question echoed in her ears, making her nauseous. She closed her eyes, hoping to squeeze some form of serenity in her body.
"This case in particular was a very strong case. Since I could relate to this case for many reasons. I would say this case was very impacting." She explained.
She and Ed had gone to a case in Virginia. A woman named Eve was having very intense and morbid visions pertaining her death. When she'd tried to rest at night, a nagging voice would whisper heart wrenching statements until she'd tried to harm herself. Eventually, her husband had to take any item that could endanger Eve away from the house.
A particular moment of an invisible noose wrapping itself around the woman and sent the couple desperately crying for Ed and Lorraine's help.
After four weeks, it was revealed that the past owner was extremely abusive and killed himself due to the overwhelming pressure of life The cause stuck with Lorraine. If the man hadn't resulted to violence, he could've gotten the help he needed. Lorraine was able to talk to man and persuade him into not plaguing the innocent young couple and finally allowing his spirit to pass on.
By the time they finished the interview, Lorraine had developed a morbid headache. She winced quietly, holding her head in her hand." Something wrong', Hon?" Ed asked, keeping her grounded. "I'm okay, I'll take something for it, and I'll be fine." She was trying so hard to keep her armor up, but pain was unbearable, and she could feel Ed's eyes cautiously following her every move. She just needed to make it back to the house.
There was nothing that tea and essential oils couldn't fix.

After Lorraine got home and took medication, she felt a little more decent. She had decided that she was healthy enough to keep a close eye on Ed. Somehow, he'd manage to bruise the entire side of his ribcage. Lorraine did come out the case with a few scrapes, but it was nothing compared to his injuries.
"You have got to stop playing superhero. You could've broken something." she scolded, rubbing ointment onto her husband's wounds. "You'd already had so much taken out of you in Rhode Island. I just need you to stay safe." Ed's eyes twinkled with sincerity, softening his wife's expression. She rolled her eyes lovingly and disappeared into the kitchen.
Pitying Ed and his injuries; she made his favorite meal, meatloaf. A vile cough etches out of her. She didn't know what was coming of her. Judy had brought a classmate's cold with them, she supposed. The foul smell of meat hits her nostrils, sending her to the downstairs bathroom.
Ed's voice calls for her as he knuckles worriedly graze against the door. Trying her hardest to keep down the violent mess that threatened to come out, she quickly finishes up in bathroom and meets her husband's gaze "How about I finish up with dinner? It's almost done anyways." Ed offers, concerned for his wife's wellbeing. She smiles wearily, afraid she'll vomit if she tries to rebuttal.
As she laid on the couch, she couldn't help but to calculate her symptoms. Meat was making her nauseous; she had been surviving off of small portions of food, and she was exhausted from doing the bare minimum. She hadn't felt like this since- Oh Dear.
She hadn't seen these symptoms for a while, not since she found out she was pregnant with Judy.
She drowns the thought out of her mind. Sure, the calculations may make since, but Lorraine was 36. It wouldn't make sense for her to be pregnant out of the blue with her fertility history. Her eyes follow the ceiling fan, feeling like she was on the same spinning cycle. She launches her head into the nightstand trashcan, groaning in utter discomfort. It is a stomach bug not a baby.
