.If goodbyes were a promise to meet again then at least I won't hate it no matter how much you say it
—Devani.***
Levi signalled to his men to come to a stop, he managed to gather up all the remaining members of the five-man squads he sent out including Riven and Marcel. He also managed to locate Park Haejin and Han Shinwoo, the two were fine but as for the others, they'd lost a number of elite knights thanks to these corrupted soldiers that had suddenly appeared.Levi was at a loss, this was first time he'd seen such a phenomenon and because they couldn't properly fight the enemy due to the corruption, he called for an immediate retreat in order to save the lives of his men.
Unfortunately they were unable to locate let alone save Lee Byeol, they'd lost track of the group that captured her. The members of the squad that were tailing said group were found dead due to erosion. But Lee Byeols body wasn't found which meant there was a chance she was still alive.
It was as they were continuing their pursuit whilst avoiding the enemy that they came across a wide area, the land was flat and the trees were sparse but there was long grass covering it making it good for hiding temporarily.
Levi decided to let his men rest, they'd already had to fight off numerous 'corrupted knights' along this journey and he wasn't so cruel as to force them to keep going while they have no energy.
The sudden appearance of these beings that use corruption threw everything into chaos. As the crown prince he couldn't help but think beyond what was currently happening.
Such an existence is a threat to the kingdom, and yet had been growing inside Ifvnar.... so close to home without them knowing a thing.
If it wasn't for Lee Byeols case, Levi doubted they would've found out about this.
Whoever was doing this obviously knew that no one would carelessly enter Ifvnar and so they may have used that place to hide these creatures. Now the mysteries are: Who are they, whats their purpose and also how many of these creatures do they have?
It was just as he was deliberating over this that he felt the air stir and Artemis who was resting beside him shot up, his fur stood on end showing how alert he'd become.
Levi had surveyed the area before allowing his men to rest, there was nothing and no one close to them for a number of kilometres and yet someone had suddenly appeared as if they just popped out of thin air.
Levi at first assumed it was an army or a large group at least because of how strong the spirit fluctuations in the air were but when he enhanced his vision he could only see a single person approaching them.
That person was wearing a long white coat, he had red hair and part of a large spear could be seen behind him.
He casually walked towards them with his hands tucked into his pockets. His steps were carefree and leisurely as if he wasn't worried at all about being in such a dangerous place.Levi alerted his men at once and they quickly scurried into position. They needed to determine if this was an enemy or a friend.
"Uhm... so whats going on?" A clear voice with a very slight sharpness to it sounded besides Levi.
Levi answered, "There's a strong person approaching we—
Levi turned his head to see who spoke only to see Lee Hyunjin next to him, staring at him with innocent eyes.
Levi flinched, "when did you get here?"
"Just now, Cer sensed you guys close by so we rushed over, are you guys about to fight?"
