68. Chaos: Hanuel

Hanuel with a pleased expression, ruffled Lee Hyunjins hair again, "such a good child!"

Lee Hyunjin glared at him, "I'm not a child!"

Hanuel said thoughtfully, "say if I were a hundred years old and you were twenty years old, in my eyes you'd still be a child right? Doesn't that make sense?"

Lee Hyunjin also thought about it and it kind of made sense in a way so he nodded his head in agreement. It was only after a few seconds that Lee Hyunjin. Realised something, "hey wait! You're not a hundred years old!"

Hanuel who looked like he was in his mid twenties as well laughed and knocked on Lee Hyunjins head, "silly."

At the end of the day, Lee Hyunjin never found out how old Hanuel was and ended up still being called a child.

"Come now, we should return to your companions," Hanuel added, he didn't instruct Eun to return to her original form and instead kept her strapped to his back in her spear form.
Lee Hyunjin bit his lip then forced the words out, "you won't ask about the corruption?"

Hanuel looked back at him, "that's a story for another day I suppose," he shrugged, "there are bigger matters right now" he turned his head forward.

As they were walking back, he stopped by Zhang Jue and Kim Jaehyun who were laying hidden behind Zeiha and Cerberus respectively.

Hanuel squatted and examined the two, "Tsk tsk," he shook his head.

Lee Hyunjins expression turned to one of worry when he heard him, "is there anything you can do for them?" He asked with a little bit of hope in his voice, unfortunately his hope was immediately shot down.

"I can kill them, put them out of their misery, if that's what you mean."

"What?!" Lee Hyunjin literally staggered.

"My attribute allows me to destroy corruption, not purify or take away or heal the damage done. You're a scion aren't you? That's probably why these two are still breathing, you took the corruption from them."

Lee Hyunjin didn't answer him so Hanuel just kept talking, "I can only destroy corrupted spirit, render it powerless."

Hanuel looked back and winked at Lee Hyunjin, "of course you can't tell people about this."

Lee Hyunjin didn't even hear his last statement, he had a frown on his face.

Hanuel who had been examining the two on the ground turned back to look at Lee Hyunjins saddened face, he thought for a moment before saying, "if you agree to come with me, I can take your friends to get treated. The blonde one can survive if he absorbs a lot of Eneri to heal the damage, as for this one," he glanced at Zhang Jue. "Well I'll think of something but for now it's best to keep him away from others lest they be poisoned by the corruption and die."

Lee Hyunjin felt really grateful. He thanked Hanuel who started drawing something on the ground, "its a rune, it'll send them straight to my estate, my people will know what to do from there," as he spoke he reached out and with a marker he pulled from who knows where, he wrote some instructions on Kim Jaehyun's forehead, "there we go!"

When the rune activated, he promptly threw Zhang Jue in and then Kim Jaehyun followed after. Lee Hyunjin watched him do so with a warped expression.

"Alright let's head back and see if your friends have decided what they want to do."

Hanuel had started walking again, Lee Hyunjin, Cerberus, Zeiha and the cubs followed him. The small group returned to Levi who was doing a check up on all the people who were with him.
