Mitsuki stepped away from the room, only to pause as she heard a noise. This kid, Killua, worried her. He won't talk about what's making him so upset, and... She couldn't help but get a bad feeling about it. That bag, it's tied to someone. Someone he misses. And he had snapped a few times, breaking his blank and emotionless demeanor when certain things were mentioned. It must be a close friend, did he go missing? One thing she knew for sure, whoever it was must have been pretty damn important. She heard another noise, and took a step back towards the door. What's- Mitsuki's eyes widened. He's...sobbing. And it wasn't a small 'I'm gonna throw a tantrum' type sob. It was a full on bawling, like he couldn't stop. Like it physically hurt. She wanted to step in, to comfort him somehow. But this kid obviously didn't want help. I feel like I should tell Inko about this, I have no idea what to do. Just as she was about to walk away, she heard him say something. "I love you...Mnh" Oh. OH. So a crush or something. Damn it now I really don't know what to do. Mitsuki tried to imagine how she would react is Masaru went missing and was never coming back. His heart must be broken to pieces.
Killua squeezed his eyes shut, heaving for a few seconds. I betrayed him again. But this time...this time it was so much worse. I- He gritted his teeth, then brought his hand down hard on his own pressure point.
Killua woke up the next morning with a hole in his chest. It was deep, gaping, and it could never be filled. He sat up, a blank emotionless expression on his face. What...time is it. He glanced over at where the alarm clock was, shattered on the floor. Oh... there was a phone on the bed as well however. It wasn't his, it was orange and black. Killua struggled to keep his monotone expression. He'd always wear that stupid orange and green jacket... Killua grabbed the phone and opened it, then checked the time. It's 9:35. Did he want food? Killua thought for a moment. No. He turned the phone off and was about to put it away when he noticed something. Killua got curious, so he turned on the camera and looked to see what he had seen in his reflection. Oh god...I look like shit. His face was red from crying, dark circles under his eyes from his restless sleep, hell his skin was even paler than it usually was. So he grabbed his bag. Killua retrieved his concealer and mirror, then started applying. Once he was finished, he did his eyeliner as well. Not that there was a point, his hands were on autopilot right now. Once he was done with the first and halfway with the second, the door opened. "Hey-" Killua didn't stop as he looked up, it was Mitsuki. She blinked. "Is that eyeliner?" He gave her a blank stare. "Mhm" She looked kind of curious. "You know how to do makeup? The way your applying that makes you look like an expert" Killua finished and placed the eyeliner back into his bag. "Yeah"
Mitsuki walked over and put a hand on his shoulder. "Hey...if you ever...want to talk, it you can come to me alright?" What's there to talk about? Killua looked away. "It's fine, don't feel pressured" She continued. "But if you ever need it, I'm here" He looked away. "I don't even trust you" he mumbled. "I don't even know why I followed you" She went still for a second. "Why is that?" he didn't even know why he was talking, he just needed to take his mind off things. "Never let your guard down, it'll get you killed one day" He mumbled quietly, reciting words he'd heard many times before. Mitsuki stiffened. "Who told you that?" He was silent for a few seconds. "Father" he mumbled. Her hand slid from his shoulder to his back, if he wasn't so numb inside it may have brought him a small amount of comfort. "It's not a bad thing to let your guard down sometimes" Your wrong. The l-last time I did that was for....f-for... He felt another tear roll down his cheek, but his face didn't change. It was blank, expressionless, unreadable, empty. Leave me alone. "You don't have to hold it all in, holding it in makes it worse" He got up, ignoring Mitsuki as she tried to speak with him. He walked out without a word. Masaru passed by him and tried to greet him as well, but he exited the house and Masaru gave him a confused look as he did so without putting on his shoes first.
