<->(written during the Tubbo and Ranboo first meet up) Tubbo and Ranboo, no smut, just Ranboo helping Tubbo get through a storm. (Platonically)

1st person

I had woken up to the sound of heavy rain hitting my window. God it was loud. What made it worse was the thunder, made even worse by the fact I didn't have blinds so I could clearly see the flashes of light caused by the lightning. This was going to be a long night.

Then I remembered I wasn't in this part of the house alone, I have Ranboo to go to. But I'd rather not wake him up, what if he makes fun of me for being scared?

But something inside my head told me that Ranboo would never make fun of me for being afraid of this. But what if he would? No. Ranboo's an understanding guy. But I don't want to wake him up. So why was I walking down the stairs to his room? Who knows 'cause I sure don't.

Why was I laying down in his bed? What am I doing? Why's it so comfortable and soft and warm... wait- god the thunder is so loud, if I don't wake him with my noise I'll accidentally wake him by jumping.

And just my luck, after a quite loud and sudden crack of thunder, I jumped and then heard him stir. Then he jumped slightly, it's then that I noticed how close I was to him. When had I gotten that close?

3rd person

Ranboo woke up with a start, then slowly opened his eyes, feeling something tickling his face. He was met with brown hair. It took him a second before his brain registered what the brown hair belonged to and his bodies gut reaction was to jump back, being shocked by the person being so close.

Tubbo slowly looked up at the other, looking guilty.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, or wake you, or bother you, I-"

"It's okay." Ranboo says, and after seeing Tubbo hide his face in the covers a bit when thunder sounds, says, "Scared of the thunder?"

"Maybe." Tubbo says in a small voice.

"Here." Ranboo says, lifting the covers and pulling them loosely over both of their heads.

"What's this?" Tubbo asks, eyes adjusting to the suddenly darker setting.

"The tent of safety." Ranboo says. "Clearly."

Tubbo laughs lightly, "Thank you." He says.

"You have a nice smile." Ranboo says before he can stop himself. He could barely see it but Tubbo's face darkened slightly when he said that. "I- umm-" Ranboo starts to back track before Tubbo says.

"I like your face." Tubbo looks at Ranboo with a passionate gaze, a genuine look in his eyes. "I know that you don't like your face but I want you to know that I like it." (In a friend kind of way)

It's now Ranboo's turn to blush. "Th-thank you." He says. "Umm..." he starts to says but stops when Tubbo jumps at the thunder again.

"What do you usually do when there are storms?" Ranboo asks after Tubbo recovers slightly.

"Umm... usually the same thing just... without... another person..." Tubbo says, moving his legs around a bit, nervously. "Where are your- Your feet are hanging off the bed." Tubbo says, noticing how all he could accidentally kick was Ranboo's shins.

"Yeah. I'm tall." Ranboo says.

"I know but like- just bend them up here." Tubbo says, bending his knees slightly as well, leaving some kind of room for the taller.

Ranboo does so, and bends his knees up as well, slightly startled by Tubbo taking one of them and putting it over his own leg before putting that leg of Tubbo's over Ranboo's other leg.

"Wha-" Ranboo starts to asks but stops when Tubbo looks back up at him.

"There. Comfort." Tubbo says.

Ranboo smiles at the other's cuteness. "Would you ever crawl into your parent's bed when you were younger?" He asks.

"Uh... yeah... I stopped pretty early because my sisters teased me for not being the strong man I should've been." Tubbo says nervously, turning his head so it was half smushed into the pillow.

"Hey." Ranboo says, awkwardly trying to put his hand on the side of Tubbo's face to make him look at him. He fails and just hold his hand there which Tubbo lifts his head up off of the pillow to pit his face in before laying his head back down on the pillow, Ranboo's hand following along with him.

"Being scared of a storm doesn't mean you're not strong." Ranboo continues. "It's completely normal. Everyone's scared of something and what that thing is doesn't make the fear any less valid than another." He trails off, thinking through his next words.

Tubbo let's him think, not really knowing what to say anyways.

"You wanna listen to music?" Ranboo asks.

"What?" Tubbo asks, confusion in his furrowed brows.

"To block out the sound of thunder." Ranboo states. "That helped me when I was younger."

"Oh... yeah... Yeah." Tubbo says, nodding.

"I've got some earbuds around here somewhere..." Ranboo says. "Hold on, I'll be right back."

With that, Ranboo untangles their legs and leaves the 'tent of safety' to go find the earbuds he'd mentioned.
