<->(written fall of 22) Lando Norris and Max Fewtrell, no smut, just two soft bois dancing in the dark. (What can I say, I'm a sucker for comfort while thunder cause I relate)
~^~
The power had gone out. They figured it would happen eventually with the storm that raged outside.
The problem was, that the music they'd been using to drown out the noise had stopped. Screw them for being weird and listening to the radio instead of Spotify, I guess. (I have the radio in my room on 24/7 because silence is dangerous... anyways)
Max had looked up at Lando when the lights flickered a few times. Lando had peered over his hoodie cocoon for a second, but hid again when the lights fully went out.
The gentle hum of the heater had also stopped so it was truly silent, you know, other than the loud thunder, wind, and rain outside.
Max had, without asking first, started playing music through his phone speakers, turning up the volume and placing it on the coffee table.
Lando watched as his friend leaned back against the couch and started tapping his foot to the beat (I'll let you guys imagine whatever song you'd like to).
Lando finds himself calmed by the gentle tap of Max's foot, and when Max starts humming along with the words, he gets a warm feeling in his stomach.
Max knew, without Lando ever telling him, that the other driver didn't like thunder. He didn't know to what extent that dislike went, but he was aware of it.
It made Lando happy, almost giddy, to know that Max payed enough attention in these situations to know just what to do to make Lando feel safer.
Lando would always be eternally thankful to have a friend like Max.
When Max had stood and walked over to Lando, offering him a hand, he was met with confused eyes.
"Let's dance. It might take your mind off the storm." Max said with a warm, welcoming smile on his face.
Lando hesitates for a second, considering his options; this seemed like a pretty good one.
The Formula 1 driver set his phone beside him on the couch, not bothering to take care in making sure it didn't fall in between the cushions. He took the others hand and let Max lead him into the space between the coffee table and the tv.
Max pulls Lando's hood so that it blocks his peripheral; which Lando is thankful for, this way, he won't see the lightning flashes as much.
Max stays close, helping with the blocking out of the rest of the room and world, placing his hands in Lando's, letting there fingers intertwine.
Lando smiles, laughs a little, dropping his forehead to rest of Max's shoulder, letting the other lead in their uncoordinated sways and steps.
They dance throughout the rest of the duration that the lights are out.
When the power comes back on, Max guides Lando back to the couch, telling him something about going to check on the other lights in the house.
Lando lays down, remembering that the storm was still going on, having lost all awareness of it while they were dancing.
He goes back into his hoodie cocoon, closing his eyes against the lamp lights.
When Max returns to the living room, he sits closer to Lando, letting the other rest his head on his leg.
Max's phone runs out of battery that night while they're asleep. He'd regretted that part in the morning after they'd woken up; that's the only part he regretted though.
