"Mum! Your home!" Landon screamed running now over to me.
"Hi baby. Shouldn't you be at school?" I asked him.
"I am sick." He shrugged walking into the kitchen.
"Where's your father?" I asked.
"Bedroom." He said, I nodded even though he couldn't see me I walked up the steps leading to our bedroom. I opened the door and saw Luke sitting on the edge of the bed with his head in his hands.
"Hi." I whispered. He looked up with excitement.
"Baby," he whispered, "I thought you would never come back."
"I would never leave any of you." I sighed, "no matter how annoying."
"I thought you were gone for good." He cried.
"Luke, don't cry." I said rubbing his back.
"I made such a mistake saying our life was better without the kids. These kids are like our glue, I wouldn't do anything different." He said.
"Luke, we need to talk." I sighed.
"Please don't leave me. I'll do my best to keep my mouth shut. Please, I need you in my life." He cried tears pouring out of his eyes.
"I'm not going to leave you." I said as he opened his mouth, "if you interrupt me one more time I swear. We just need to take a short break. I'm not saying a divorce or anything, but we just need some air. I'm going to give you the option, I can go stay at a motel and leave you here with the kids, or you can go stay somewhere and I'll stay here with the kids."
"But how long is this separation going to last?"
"A week, tops." I said.
"You stay here with the kids. I'll go stay with my mum." He said standing up.
"Luke, don't think I'm pushing you away. I will always love you." I said placing my hand on his bicep. He yanked his arm away and walked out of the room with a simple.
"Okay."
