Denver was pacing around his apartment. It had been like 3 weeks now and he had no progress. Except for getting arrested and released about a dozen or more times.

He threw up his hands and sighed loudly. What to do? What to do?
Denver's phone rang, he picked it up. "Hello? " He said rather in a hothead . Skyle's annoying laugh rang from the other side.

"Still no luck I presume? " He asked. Denver sighed frustrated again. "No " He growled.
"And your victim? What about him? " Skyle asked. "I dangled him from the bridge few days ago and after that he's ghosted" Denver said annoyed.

"O my god, you did what? " Syle laughed loudly. "Barry, Denver dangled that kid Kevin from the bridge to get that officer's attention" Skyle's voice sounded out.
"What in the name of Pete? Complete and utter idiot" Denver heard Barry say.

Barry was technically their uncle. He had agreed to keeping their other brother Adam till Denver had settled down and Skyle's work had finished.

Denver growled again "What do I do now?".
"Look man, you're on your own now, figure it out, I'm sure something will come to you. You're a pro at this stuff and you've been at it for like 3 weeks.. Anyways All the best to you" Skyle said as he hung up.

Denver threw his phone which slid across the table and threatened to break the glass. But Denver caught it in time thankfully.

Forget it. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Denver took out his pocket knife, put on his coat and left the apartment, which he locked behind him.

He walked down to the floor below his and smirked his lips. The floor below him had one apartment that belonged to this old lady, who collected absurd antique items. Well you can figure out what Denver was upto.

About 15 mins later a cop car could be heard and Denver was satisfied. He went and leaned at the doorways looking at his nails waiting for the officer to arrive.

"Freeze " He heard the same voice as his lips perked up. He put his hands up as the officer walked in with a gun in front of him.

Niver sighed and put the gun in. He looked at Denver annoyingly " Did you take anything Jack? " He asked politely. Denver shook his head no.

The poor old lady was taken aback. Niver walked to her and assured her that Denver was not a thief and this would not happen again. He got her some medicines and wished her a good night.

Denver's face glowed as he grinned shamelessly at Niver. Niver sighed and signalled Denver to come with him. Denver pouted behind his back because the officer didn't cuff him but he followed nonetheless.

The officer took Denver to his car and asked him to get in. Denver got in the backseat grinning lightly. The officer got in the front seat and sighed.

Denver noticed he looked tired, like maybe too exhausted or wait.. He looked sad about something. Like really sad and he was not the normal annoyed with Denver. He didn't say a word as they drove through the highway.

Denver was observing the officer, he looked disturbed and not in the right frame. Maybe something happened, but that was upto Denver to figure out, he didn't want the officer pissed by asking him what was wrong.

Suddenly the car jerked to a halt, Denver looked outside, they were just a little way from the city. He looked to see why the officer had stopped the car. There was a red car, in front of theirs , blocking their path.

The officer sighed and hit the steering wheel hard. He then got out and slammed the door hard, making Denver shiver. Denver though it best not to leave the car.
