Disenchanted.

Chapter 9: Cemetery Drive

Denver was smiling to himself, more so than usual and it didn't take Skyle long to notice that. He jerked back and gave a hearty laugh. "Dude, you look smitten " He said.

Red creeped into Denver's cheeks immediately. "Shut up" He growled as he got up.

They were sitting at the table back at the apartment, going through some files for Skyle's new case. Skyle is a lawyer, a big one and well, if only he saw those guys earlier, he would've immediately recognised Jason and Michael.

Denver put his glass back as he grabbed his coat and headed for the door. "I'm gonna drop by for some groceries, you want anything? " He asks.

"Uhh - nothing except for some more redbulls. Those are fire here " Skyle said, turning back to his papers.

Denver nodded and stepped out, as he closed the door behind him, his phone rang.
A smile appeared on his face again as he saw the caller Id.

"Hey babe " He smirked into the phone.
"Heyy Deno " Gabbie's voice came back from the other side. Denver felt his face flush in embarrassment. "Hi Gabbie" He said.

"What happened to Skyle? " He asked. "Nothing" Denver replied furrowing his eyebrows. "Why isn't he picking up the phone? " Gabbie asked.

"Wait " Denver opened the door again. "Sky, pick up your phone and call Gabbie, he -" Before Denver could finish, Skyle was already dashing to his phone in the bedroom.

"There you go, he'll call you now " Denver sighed into his phone. "Thanks Deno, oh and Connie said he has some slutty surprise for you at night " Gabbie said in a teasing voice. "Shut up " Came Connor's voice behind him somewhere.

"Really? "  Denver decided to press on, a smile plastered on his face.
"Yeah, he wants you to come over tonight and-"
"Gabbie, your phone's ringing "
"- and he's gonna-"
"Your phone"
"-he will-"
"It's ringing"
"-will-"
"Your phone is ringing"
"Oh shut up Connie, here take your damn phone, your damned boyfriend and whatever. Not one of these guys have patience for some fun" Gabbie huffed into the phone.

"Hey Den " Connor's voice came on the phone.
"So, what was that? " Denver asked. "What? Oh, nothing nothing" He waved it away.

"Anyways, you going shopping today? " Connor asked. "Yeah, getting in the car now" Denver said. Which was true, during the bickering, he had already walked down the stairs and opened the door to his car.

"Okay, I'm getting off in an hour and I'll be there. I need some stuff too " Connor said.
"Sure, then I have to pick up Adam too " He said. "Oh Adam, boy Andy's probably having the time of his life with him " Connor said.

Denver laughed, "I know, Adam was squealing when he came back and couldn't wait to go again " He said. "Well atleast everything is settled now, we're all happy to be living again" Connor laughed. "Yeah, everything's gonna be fine " He said.

Denver hummed to himself as he picked up the six pack of red bull, he then pushed his cart to the checkout counter.

He was waiting in line when he saw a pack of gummy worms , he smiled to himself as he picked those and some licorice up.

The checkout guy smirked at the sweets "Netflix and Chill night with Girlfriend?" He asked side eyeing Denver. Denver was amused "No" He laughed and said " Those are for my boyfriend's brother a.k.a my brother's boyfriend" Denver said.

He loved the confusion on people's faces, when he said that. The guy pouted as he put those in the bag.

Denver paid him and grabbed the bag, then he pulled out his phone as he made his way out. He called up and held the phone to his ear as he passed through the automatic doors.

"Hey Den" Connor's over enthusiastic voice came from the other side.
"Hi babe, you done? " Denver asked.
"Yup just packing up" Connor said,
" And you? "  He asked.
"All done " Denver said.
"Noo, I wanted to go to that new place too " Connor said and Denver could almost see him pouting.

Denver laughed " It's fine, we can come again" He said.
"Sure " Connor grumbled,
" Now now, don't be upset, I got some licorice " Denver said.
"O yes, Den just come home" Connor said. Denver laughed " You bet I am " He said. "Okay see you hun " Connor said.
"See you, bye" Denver hung up.

He smiled as he got into the Chevelle, everything's so great he though to himself . He started the car, couldn't get any better.

He pressed the gas as the car accelerated onto the road. He turned it around and it was going smooth until,Denver heard a horn and a light. As he turned to his left, a car was coming towards him. He barely had time to look ahead as he noticed : he was going the right way, that car purposefully crashed into him.

The car was hit on the side as it toppled over, once, twice and came to a halt on the deserted side of the road.

Denver's head was bleeding, his mouth was red. His body was immovable, his vision blurred.

"Cone" Was the last word he said as his eyes slammed shut.

There was more people in front of the E.R. than this hospital had seen in, well forever.

They were all waiting patiently, all boys, grown up. Some of them looked alike, all of them looked really really worried.

The nurses there whispered to what could happen that,

3 lawyers
1 policeman
2 teen kids and
1 little child

Were all so worried. They were all about to break down by the looks of it.

There was a grave and serious tension in the air.

As if their world was about to end.

As if, everything they loved was coming to an end.

As if, they were about to lose something very close and very dear to them.

Like, they wouldn't live if that happened.

Like, they were all tied, like life support to this.

Almost the whole of the hospital was gathered there. There was not many patients in the hospital. And those that were there, were also all in front of the E.R.
Everyone was holding their breath.

Like this moment would determine something big.

Like it would tear apart those lives.
