"That was super funny" Denver said rolling as he held his stomach having laughed too much.

Two years had passed and the boys had grown even close to each other.

He was on Connor's bed with Connor himself and they were having the time of their lives exchanging funny stories of their brothers.

As the laughter died down a bit Denver looked at Connor, who was looking at the ceiling and making hand patterns.

"Hey Cone, Can I ask you something? " Connor looked at Denver and nodded his head.
"Did you have any girlfriends?" Denver asked.

By the way the colour drained and the expression changed on Connor's face Denver could tell this was a sore spot.

He quickly sat up and tried to cover it up "It's fine, you don't have to answer that question. It's stupid anyways an-"

"It okay Denver, it's not your fault" Connor said getting up. He climbed down from the bed and went to sit on the chair at his desk.

He turned his back towards Denver and heaved a sigh. "No Denver, I've never had a girlfriend, don't you know why I'm bullied? Ahh.. Well it's because I'm gay " Connor said.

"Now you're disgusted by me and you think this is a bad idea, becoming a friend with me and all of this makes you have a bad reputation then surely you are free to go. I won't stop you, I promise" Connor said.

Denver sat on the bed, a bit startled. He regained conscience just in time as he looked at Connor. "Cone look at me" He said.

Connor refused to turn around, Denver went over to the edge of the bed and rotated Connor's  chair to face him. Connor just sat there with his head hung over.

Denver placed a hand under Connor's chin and slowly lifted it up. "Hey, I see no less of you and neither should other people. You shouldn't listen to them, they're crooks." Connor laughed.

"You're perfect just the way you are" Denver said smiling. Connor slowly wiped away the tears forming at his eyes "Thank you Denver" He said. He wrapped his arms around Denver's head and squeezed him in a hug.

"Oh haha" Denver was startled but he quickly wrapped his hands around the smaller boy and hugged him back.

They had sunny evenings and cold mornings together. They had beach walks and sunsets together. They had coffee shops and restaurants together.

They even had a big fight once.

"No Denver, you don't understand that is not how this is supposed to be" Connor exclaimed.

"But this is nice as it is why would you wanna change it" Denver said.

"Because that's just not how this works" Connor said, his arms now flailing.

"I don't care how it works, this is good and I'm going to keep it" Denver said.

"Ughh, you're so stubborn" Connor said as he walked out of Denver's bedroom and went back to his house.

Two, three days had passed and neither of them had talked to either. They were giving cold shoulders and avoiding each other.

Their little brothers decided to take things is hand.

"Hey sky what do we do? " Gabbie asked Skyle.

They were standing at the park gate, watching as both of their brothers though in the park, we're sitting mikes away from each other.

Both equally droopy and sad, not having the company of the other.
