Charley's POV

I'd hate to sound like a fortune cookie but things happen for a reason. The babies are one of those things. They were due sometime during our three month break between tours and there was only two weeks left . Right when I had somehow nearly forgotten Eliza she became a permanent re-installment in my life. I'm unsure of how she feels and it hurts knowing she may not love me back.
She walks into the living room carrying a various assortment of snacks. " Do you want to do anything today?" she inquired plopping down next to me on the couch
" Didn't have anything in mind"
"Good"
"ummm, I guess, do you have any plans?"
" Yup"
"Are you gonna say any thing more?" sometimes I swear she thinks I can read minds, I poke her side encouraging her to continue.
"Well, first I was going to eat this bag of popcorn, then I was thinking of having either the snickers or Reese's, all while watching Doctor Who, and then I was thinking of a nap"
I couldn't do much more than lightly laugh and shake my head
" So are you okay with that?" she questioned me as if it would deter her if I did.
"Sounds fine, I have to work tomorrow"
She turned to look at me and raised one eyebrow. " We're working on a new song" the eyebrow remained floating as she slowly turned her head back to the tv.
" BOO!" I said loudly somehow scaring her, spilling popcorn everywhere. "Clean it up!" she yelled "I didn't make the mess!" I yelled back.
"Owww!" she yelped out, seeing the troubled look on my face she reassured me " Just a kick, looks like they get always being a pain in the ass from their father"
I chuckled lightly playfully hitting her arm before kissing her stomach. "Don't swear in front of the children!"
She rolled her eyes at me. "Bad habits start young!" she elbowed me lightly in the chest before yelping out in pain. She handed me the food and remote on her lap and slowly stood up, her breathing increasing in speed. "Eliza, what's wrong what's happening?" I tried to look calm till I noticed the spot she was sitting on was completely soaked. "I-I think-" she began to cry out in pain bending slightly over to grip the arm of the couch "they're - they're" she didn't need to finish I called her parents but it went straight to voicemail. I picked her up and carried her out to the car. She gripped my shoulder in pain and finally let go when I laid her in the back seat. I began to close the door when "M-Mr. L-Lumpykins!" she screamed out.
"What?"
"G-get Mr. Lumpykins, I won't go with out him"
I closed the door and ran back up stairs to get the toy. I couldn't believe it, the girl who graduated high school at sixteen, who was almost done with a masters in business, one of the strongest people I know, needed a stuffed toy to so much as go to sleep at night, and I loved it.
I ran into the car and drove to the hospital as quick as I could. Eliza asked me to stay out side the room, so I sat and occasionally paced around the waiting room.
After three unbearable hours a doctor came out "Mr.Bagnall, I'd like to speak with you."
"How are the babies?" I nearly yelled.
"They are healthy, a boy and a girl, the nurses are cleaning them up and you can see them shortly."
"Eliza! What about Eliza?"
"That's what I came to talk to you about" my heart sank "There were some complications during the birth"
No, no, I love Eliza more than anyone else on this planet, no.
