"Well Luz, did you ever in your life think you'd see something as breathtaking as this!" Eda said she referred to the giant dead slug in front of them, Eva could only shake her head in disappointment and disgust.

"I don't like this," Luz said cringing at the sight.

"Yes it doesn't get any more inspiring than the trash slug, it makes a home, a life from what others have thrown by the wayside until Blam! It gets blasted by a wave one day and croaks from all the salt and then we get to sell this stuff at eight." Eda said handing them two pickaxes.

"Please don't make me," Luz whispered.

"Mom, for the last time I am not touching that thing. It's gross." Eva said, crossing her arms together.

"Oh come Luz It's not every day you go to the dump and pick apart a garbage carcass," King said laying down a blanket

"Ah nuts to you all," Eda said and Eva rolled her eyes and went to sit with the king as she did she noticed something in the ground, she licked it up to reveal a very beautiful amulet.

"Pretty." She said as she put it on and Eda started to whack away at the trash.

"So Eda... What if we tried some new lessons for my apprenticeship, like... read ancient scrolls or mix potions or--"

"Uh, that sounds like a bunch of magic school stuff," Eda said.

"Wait is there a magic school here, like winding towers, cute uniforms, and dark plots that threaten your life kinda magic school," Luz asked.

"Yeah, there is one," Eva said.

"But what's worse is that they teach you to learn magic the proper way, but magic isn't proper It's wild and unpredictable and that's why it's so beautiful. I didn't finish school and look at me. Who wouldn't enjoy where I am right now?" Eda said as she stood in a bunch of trash.

"Yeah mom, we're soo envious," Eva said sarcastically.

"Hey, I'm your mom you know," Eda said.

"Oh, I know," Eca said with an innocent smile making King laugh, but Eda noticed Luz looking down a little sad.

"Uh hey here's a lesson a great witch it resourceful, like this," Eda said sticking Luz's hand in green sludge.

"Eew!" Eva cringed. Luz pulled out something from inside the sludge.

"Oh hey, greasy slime ball," Luz said.

"Use your slime ball wisely young witch...Back at it, we'll hit the stink nodes first." Eda said.

"Actually if it's okay, I think I'll head home and look at pictures of animals that are still alive," Luz said.

"Oh, can I come?" Eva asked.

"Sure, love you King you little beach peach," Luz said scratching his belly.

"Me too King," Eva said kissing his head.

"Yeah, double the adoration," King said.

"More for me then," Eda said and went into the trash slug. "There we go." She said throwing stiff out and a tuba landed on King's head. "This is awesome." She said.

The two were walking through the forest, Luz was frowning and a little upset.

"Ugh! if magic is all about digging for slime balls then maybe I don't have the stomach for it." Luz said as she put the ball in her pocket.

"Luckily it's not, but my mom's l maybe a little well... unorthodox, but she has her moments more or less, but check out this amulet," Eva said showing Luz.
