"You are now my hero"

Brittany tilts her head and smiles, then slowly moves her head back to position changing her facial expression to 'sorry not sorry'.
"So I saw you talking to MY boyfriend at first lunch!" Brittany starts.
"Ex!" I correct.
"Excuse me?" Brittany barked.
"Oh Ex as in past boyfriend, no longer lover, secret loner!" I lectured.
"HEY!!" Brittany yelled. "I don't know what your playing at you little pop tart, but I never want to see you talk to Taylor or even look at him. If u do... Your high school life is over. I will make it a living hell for you here--"
"Oh so nothing it already is then?" I interrupt. I grab my lunch and walk away. Looking for somewhere quiet to sit and listen to music.
Before I put my second earphone in, a girl I've only ever seen in my history class, walks over to me and sits down.
"Hi... I'm casey," she explains.
"Uhh, I'm Nicole... You can call me Nic if u want," I put my other earphone in and play my music.
"Alright then Nic, umm I just wanted to say that you are now my hero!"
I take out my earphones and stare at her in confusion.
"So I guess I'll let you get to your music thing!" She walks away. I stare at her for a while trying to figure out what the hell that was.
