The marines didn't try to follow after the arrival of the Red-Haired Pirates. They even agreed that Whitebeard and Ace were dead and deserved a proper funeral.
As for the Whitebeard Pirates, they watched a strange woman sit with her eyes closed on the edge of a circle around their fallen father and brother.
Even though they had no idea what she was doing, no one dared to move her, them or even enter her circle. They couldn't feel the chakra, but it was working. Hana was healing them.
The Red-Haired Pirates had joined them after a way of sailing, wanting to bring them to an island for a burial. But even they wouldn't enter the strange circle.
So both crews found an island and stayed there for three days as she worked on the Pirates. By day two Hana needed some help.
Breaking for a moment, she performed some hand signs and bit her right thumb. Placing it on the ground a cloud of smoke appears.
In its place were two Phoenix birds. One a large male with bright red feathers, the other a smaller and younger male with shimmering gold feathers.
Sensing their summoner's wishes, they flew to lay on the wounds of the injured. The larger one sat on the chest of Whitebeard while the younger one settled on the neck of Ace.
Shock rang through the ships at the sight. Phoenix birds, they were real. Marco wasn't sure to be amazed or in mourning.
By day three, Hana was almost out of chakra. Sweat covered every inch of her body, as shaky breaths left her. This was the most complicated healing she's done in a very long time.
Finally, she lowered her hands and sighed to the sky. They were breathing on their own, and their injuries healed almost completely. They'll need to be watched in case anything happens but they will live. Her gut told her so.
All eyes were on Hana as she took deep breaths to calm her panting. Exhaustion was deep in every bone of her body, she's going to sleep for a long time.
"Astra, Usta. Can you stay there for a bit to make sure the healing is complete?" The two birds chirped in response, it would be too much if they talked. Turning to look at the blonde who had taken a watch next to her, she smiled.
"They're going to live. The scarring will be kinda rough since it was just me, but they're breathing on their own right now. If you can have your doctor keep them under observation, I am going to sleep for a long time now."
As soon as she finished, her body tilted backwards with her eyes rolled back. Hana passed out from exhaustion and low chakra. Marco caught her before she hit the deck, amazed that this small woman healed two of his family members. They all owed her a lot.
"Find her a room to stay in, have one of the nurses clean her up and give her new clothes."
Pirates jumped up at the task their first commander issued them. It was a miracle, the impossible was done.
Marco slowly inched his way into the circle, eyes on the two figures. Relief flooded him at the slow rise and fall of their chests, they really were breathing.
Just what did that woman do? And who was she?
