Clarissa looked around at her surroundings.
Large, white, skeletal blasters were closing in on her. She was face to face with Sans who was wrapped in a white scarf, hat, and gloves and a blue hoodie. His eyes were glowing yellow and blue, flashing dangerously.
"Look, I get that you care about your brother, but he's narcissistic and dangerous!" Clarissa shouted through Snowdin's winter storm. Sans didn't answer. "His dream isn't good for him!" Clarissa told him, "He could be better than that!"
"do you even understand this?" Sans snarled, "we have a royal guard to defend us from people like you. people who don't show MERCY. i know what you did to Toriel." "Who?" Clarissa asked.
"the woman in the RUINS," Sans explained. Clarissa took a second to process that he was talking about the goat thing. "Oh...I thought it was a monster," She managed.
"she is. i am too. you've got a lot of nerve saying that," Sans growled, his fist tightening. The Gaster Blasters opened their jaws, a blue tinted ball of magic charging up inside its throat. Clarissa looked at Sans, desperation in her eyes.
"so...kiddo, tell me, do you think that the worst person can change if they really just try?" Cans asked, the Gaster Blasters slowly approaching Clarissa. She nodded. Sans chuckled. The Blasters disapated just as Papyrus woke up.
"hey, bro," Sans said like nothing just happened.
"SANS! WHAT JUST HAPPENED?" Papyrus asked. Sans shrugged.
"since this human's survived so long against the great Papyrus, should you use your special attack?" Sans asked with a wink. Papyrus lit up. He smiled wide. "YES! PREPARE YOURSELF, HUMAN!!! FOR NOW YOU WILL FACE MY SPECIAL ATTACK!!!"
Clarissa braced herself. Bones pummeled towards her. She tried to dodge, but missed by a little, leaving herself at 1/30 HP. She grit her teeth. She turned back around to face Papyrus and Sans, only to see a line of Gaster Blasters with an orange glow in their mouths. They blasted, and Clarissa fell to the ground.
There wasn't a need to check what her HP was. It was clearly 0/30. "hey, bro, maybe next time we should just try to capture the human," Sans decided, "it'll impress Captain Gerson more."
"CAPTAIN GERSON! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, MUST FIND HIM AND TELL HIM ABOUT MY ACHIEVEMENT!!!" Papyrus shouted as he ran into the snowy thicket. Sans laughed and his gaze rested on Clarissa's orange soul, which floated just above her body. His right eye flickered as he teleported away.
Shortly after, an unaccompined turtle came by. He was a young muscular turtle with a strong, thick shell. He had a short brown beard and twinkling yellow eyes. He wore silver plated armor with the DELTARUNE symbol. On his gray plumed helmet, the name "Captain Gerson Boomer" was engraved.
"Wa ha ha! Jus' what do we got 'er?" Gerson asked himself. He took a glass jar out of his leather satchel. He collected Clarissa's soul in it and walked away. The soul looked at the scenery of the tranquil Waterfall, the scorching Hotlands, and the quaint bit of the Underground, New Home.
She was brought to a castle. There was a hall with marble pillars and an orange tiled floor. Sans leaned against one pillar, fiddling with a wishbone. "How'dja know?" Gerson asked. Sans shrugged. Clarissa's soul trembled in the jar.
Gerson walked past Sans into a throne room with yellow flowers. "King Asgore!" Gerson shouted. A tall blonde goat came out from a door across from the hall. "Ah, Gerso-" The King paused, "Thank you, my friend." He took the soul solemnly from the turtle.
Asgore walked to a white glowing corridor. Gerson followed. "How did it happen, Captain?" The King asked.
"I jus' found it," Gerson said bluntly, "Over in Snowdin." "Hm," The King mused. He put the jar into a slot. "Would you like a cup of tea, Gerson?" Clarissa heard King Asgore said before their conversation was muffled.
Clarissa felt alone and it was dark. There was a faint light in the distance. And for the very first time...
