The Note

Jellal POV

She really chose me over her guild? Do I really mean that much to her? Can she truly forgive me. No, I don't think so. Maybe she could understand, but never forgive. she's important to me and I want her around for missions, laughs, fights... The real reason I want her here wasn't actually my idea. it was meredys.

Before Erza was unfrozen I had felt guilty and ashamed. I missed the one person anchoring me to this world. Meredy knew I was depressed without her. so much to the point that my guilt pushed me to try and execute myself. Erza keeps me going and without her punishment is my only salvation.

I hold her dainty hand as the sun peeks through the leaves. beautiful golden webs encircle us in the clearing like a giant dome through the trees. She shifts with a grunt so I decide to wake her up.

"Erza." I tap her shoulder.
"Huh..." she mumbles.
"Wake up."
"Mkay." her coffee brown eyes slide open slowly. she's adorable...

"Alright love birds let's discuss this." we both jolt uptight at the sound of a woman's voice. Ultear.

Erza POV

So this was all an elaborate scheme? There was no mission. no job. they brought us, me, here to ask me to join. their plan was to get all the powerful mages away from the guild to give us time to escape without master knowing, ask me to join, and if I said yes, to just leave. if I had said no they would leave by themselves. I've been lied to again.

Ultear POV

"Are you sure about this?" I ask the scarlet haired mage. she nodded once with a strict face. "okay then." she try's to keep her face straight but I can tell this is heartbreaking for her. slowly her guild mark vanishes as she uses her own magic to erase it. silent tears flood her eyes but she quickly blinks them away.
"Alright. your master will sense this. he will know what you've done. So hurry up." I say softly. this must be so hard for her. I watch her quickly scrawl out a note on a rock with parchment and a spare pen. she folds it and clutches it tightly in her fist. "Let's get it over with." she murmurs. Meredy brings out our guild stamp.

"What color and where?" She asks her. after much thought, she answers.

"Purple. I don't really care where it is." she lets Meredy brush aside her lanky red locks. the mark goes on her left shoulder blade, so it's not to obvious to suspicious people.

"We should go. the others will be awake in an hour or so and we need to cover a tracks. fast." I say firmly. Erza nods but walks back to camp. she slips her scratchy note into the hand of her other best friend, Gray, who is still sound asleep.

"Sorry." she mouths before getting up to stand beside us. Jellal leads the way back to the ship. I hope she is happy with her choice.

Gray POV

I awake to an intense light shown in my face. I groggily open my eyes and find only Wendy and happy awake at the time.

"Morning." I say before clenching my hand around... a piece of paper? I slowly unfold it and read.

Dear Fairy Tail, ...

"Guys!!" I shout, jolting most people awake.
"GAHHHH ICE PRINCESS YOU WOKE ME UP!!!!!" Natsu roars.

"JUST LISTEN FLAME BRAIN!!! THIS IS FROM ERZA!!!" I yell back.

"Dear fairy tail." I begin. "the last years with you have been wonderful, scary, fun, and horrific all at the same time. I've never had such amazing friends as all of you. so please forgive me for leaving. I'm resigning from Fairy Tail until further notice.
