Last Straw

Charybdis POV

"Erza has made her decision. she won't be going back to her guild anytime soon." A tall girl with long black hair stride up to me.

"Good, thank you. Return to Scylla now." I say, proud of my sisters sea snake. did you know that they can turn into an exact copy of someone else? In this case... Ultear.

"You can't do this!" Comes the real time mages voice from behind bars, clinging to the stone beside Juvia with scaly snakes slithering up and down her body. the imposter transforms back into her snake form and slithers back to the snake pit in which Scylla sleeps.

"Weeee willlll beeeee takiiiinnngg ouuur shaaaare off thheeee seaaaaas noooow....." The sirens prepare to leave.

"Not just yet, girls. wait until the plan is fulfilled to take your reward."

"Buuutttt-"

"You will do as I say!" Lightning flashes with my anger. They glare through techno colored eyes. "Erza will join us soon." I murmur, pleased with myself.

"She won't do that! She would never!" Juvia crys.

"Ah but she will! With Scylla's serpents transforming into evil versions of all her thought to be friends, she will have no choice but to run into the arms of my sister and I who will be there to help her through the pain. she will be putty in our hands." I laugh.

"No! Why must you do this?"

"Erza is a descendant of a very powerful family. All we have to do is help her unlock her true power. She won't be harmed, but once she is allied with us, she will help us defeat the ones who threw us out of our thrones!"

"She will never do that!" Juvia sobs.

"Ohho but she's already on her way! Did you know that not only you were an imposter in her group, but so is Meredy, Elfman, Carla, and you dear Juvia. thanks for freeing us by the way!" I say as the body's of their unconscious friends are thrown into their same cell.

"Don't worry they are alive." my sister yawns from her snake bed.

"Don't worry they are alive." Repeat her little pets.

"Scylla! Send Ultear 2 over here! She's got work to do!" I shout. out of the snake pit steps Ultear 2.

"You know what to do sweety." I whisper and listen to her echoing footsteps leave our chambers. Have fun with that Erza.... I think to myself as I stare into the dead of night.

Erza POV

"How's it going?" I ask Jellal as he comes back from hunting. He returns my hunters spear, and the beads and feathers clank together like wind chimes.

"Okay I guess." he says as he picks up a beautiful, bloody, deer he killed, when something catches my eye.

"Jellal... that bracelet you have..." he freezes.

"Wh-what about it?" He asks.

"It looks like the hair that Ultear cut off." I giggle as I tug gently on the silky red braided band around his wrist.

"Cut the cute act alright." Ultear stomps up to us. I roll my eyes and follow her back to camp where we skin and cook the deer.

Later as we eat, Ultear decides it would be funny to fling the deer skin at me. In which case I grab the long piece of bloody skin and fur, stalk up to her, and quickly begin strangling her with it.

"I swear, stop this cocky act of yours, or I will rip your eyeballs out and shove them down your throat so you can watch me tear apart your corpse!!" Her face turns different shades of blue and purple as she struggles to breath. "Don't mess with me little girl...." my eyes lick with hers. "this is the last straw! I won't let you kick me around when I've done nothing wrong! Any last words?" I get a silent, gurglish, snarl in reply.

"Erza!" Meredy yelps. I release the wench from her death sentence and take my place by Jellal once more.

"Nice death threat." he raises an eyebrow. "but we can't fight like that within our group."

"Sorry." I say quietly watching Ultear regain her breath. "Jellal can we talk?" I ask. He stands and hold out a hand to help me up. I take it gratefully and we step quietly into the dark forest.

"What is it?" He asks.

"I feel bad... about what my friends said... I care about them but I also really care about you. It seems Ultear isn't so keen on the idea of me joining though." I mumble.

"I know how you feel, we have you a choice and you can still choose to go back to them if you must. Ultear isn't usually like that, I don't know what has gotten into her and I promise to talk to her later. Erza I really want you with me." he puts his hand I my arm. I smile and nod.

"I want to be with you too." I say shyly. when he raises an eyebrow and smiles I quickly add, "ya know! In the guild!" I chuckle nervously.

"I know what you mean." I laughs, and leans down closer to me.

"Jellal! I-"

"Do you know the real reason why asked you to join us?"

"No."

"Do you want to know?"

"No! Why?!" I ask a bit nervous.

"Because... I love you. I want you to feel safe with us Erza, but more importantly , with me."
