XXVI
Old hag warning! And angst and mature terms at the end with Dream and NM.
3rd POV
Location: Hospital bed
Fellience looks over the analysis of his recent tests on Ink's soul, leafing through countless paragraphs of results and appraisal that have shown no difference from the first examinations.
He has told Nightmare, Dream, and Error that his body and soul were not compatible with each other and that one would break before the other could, but it was a lie or more likely an excuse.
It has been already two days that he has observed Ink's state and he couldn't tell what else could the problems be, other than extreme fatigue and weakness. Although that his soul does not seem to solicit anything specific and that his current body was enough, there was still something that was taking Ink's energy away, somehow having something to do with his soul.
During the time where he was sort of stable, his soul would unexpectedly bump harder and glow brighter for few minutes, taking the skeleton off of guards, and let Ink's body start flinching at any shock, but every time the doctor thought that he was finally waking up, the soul would automatically calm itself and make the shocks disappear as if nothing happened the past seconds before.
It has already happened four times and it doesn't seem familiar to the younger skeleton, a soul acting like this was exceptional.
He watches Ink's peaceful soul's light glow in his rib cage, there were some things that he hasn't verify and didn't even begin to, his tattoos on his bones. His tattoos are extremely tiny, nearly unreadable bits of binary that are part of the multiverse's code that stuck onto him in the past.
He doubts that he would be able to read his writings with the knowledge and machines that he has, he doesn't have either of those abilities to analyze them and converts the numerical notations into a system of symbols more understandable.
Ink was fine, so what was preventing him to wake up?
[...]
"So..." he began, staring at him like an open book with an unreadable expression. The other stares awkwardly at the ground, fidgeting with the end of his scarf with a usual timid face.
"You're the one who stole my body and codes..?" he looks down on the ground, frowning. His thinking posture and his eyes' symbols were intimidating, to the shy skeleton's point of view, not exactly knowing how to respond to this presumption without stuttering or sounding like a nervous guy, he half-nodded a nyes, the equivalent of a yes and no answer.
"...!" the strange skeleton with mismatched eyes suddenly crawls toward the nervous one without giving him any personal space, his eyes glowing with curiosity and excitation as the others were just two normal scared lights.
"Why is my body so different?" he asked placing his two hands on Ink's face and pivoting it left to right to analyze it closely.
"Uh...s-so you are the previous owner of this body?" he wondered to make sure, pushing his hands away from his face slowly, to the other dismay.
"Yeap but you should give it back, I can clearly imagine how shifted the balance is, since you are incompetent, Error must have destroyed tons of universes!" exclaimed the annoyed skeleton. He soonly starts to ramble about Error being this, Error being that, ruining the creator's AUs, killing mercilessly hundreds of their characters until he stopped mid-sentence, having forgotten why he was here, to begin with, and what he was babbling about.
2nd POV
You weren't listening to anything as the skeleton's spirit-like was discussing way too much for your head, you didn't even notice that he has stopped talking and that he was looking at you with two empty eyes lights, unlike yours that were bigger and lively. Was it your turn to talk?
"Uh..." you began looking down at your knees that oddly seems way more interesting than the awkward silence. "That's... Cool..?"
"My body," he repeated coldly, his face darkening the same shade as the black landscape that you have been stuck in there for about two days.
"I'm sorry but... I don't— how...?" at this rate, you'll give up making full sentences as you couldn't properly think and phrase words and try to be comprehensive to the former guardian.
In a blink of an eye, Ink's eyes symbols turned into an interrogation red dot and a green spiral shape as he looks at you confused as if you had a beefsteak on your face.
"You...don't know how things work... Don't ya?" you nodded hesitantly, having thought of already knowing how to use the basics of magics and its manipulations. He sighed tiredly as he moves even more closer to you, placing his hand in front of you for you to give him something.
"Hand me your soul, I'll take care of it."
"...you want your body back... But with my soul..?!" you whispered-yelled under your scarf as you quickly get up and steps far from him, your astonishment echoing around.

3rd POV
Location: Star's base
Nightmare, Error, and Dream's eyes lights glance around the no-longer-depressing living room of the base, let's just say that they tried their best to comfort the children and that it has worked because they were now yelling in joy, disgusting Nightmare, and annoying Error by the way.
What was funny is that Fellience lied to Nightmare, Dream, and Error who lied to Swap, the murder time trio, and Cross who lied to Stain, PJ, and Palette about Ink's condition. So what the gods know is that Ink is in an artificial coma that maintains him alive, what the other Sanses know is that he is just sick, in a very weak state and will stay at the cabin for an undetermined amount of time, and what the kids know is that their mom is pregnant and a bit sick.
Dream facepalmed at Nightmare when he has tried to explain, Error tried to help and said that it was one of the reasons why they felt weird with their soul's connection toward Ink, it was because they were having a little sibling.
"What if Ink wakes up? He's not pregnant, last time that I've checked." Error glitched at the realization, unknowingly glowing a blue blush as he starts imagining things.
(don't lie, we all do that)
"Well..." Dream looks at him with furious eyes, expecting an answer from him or Error who was trying to hide his blue face with his scarf.
"I did fucked him three days ago so technically..." At those words, Error and Dream's eyes, lights disappeared as the room fell dead silent for some moments before one starts to speak.
"I don't think this is how pregnancy works, Nightmare" added Error with a disgusted look, glaring away from the two.
"Unless you..." he didn't even dare continue this sentence as he sighed and looked at him with an awful peek, hot tears starting appearing in his eyes sockets as he tried to hide them after the first drop's falling.
"Playing with his soul was fun" he smirked, leaning his back on the wall as he crosses his arms, looking at the children. He could feel Dream's negativity rising every second now, his sadness making him feel even crueler as Error sent him some pitiful looks.
"Well, you'll be in charges anyway." finished Error as he went picking the noisy Paperjam and summons a portal to the anti-void, not sparing a glance to anyone as he left their base.
"..."
Around the multiverse, the skeletons' soul's bonding was unimaginable to the other's eyes, it was like a myth that would never exist. Nightmare frowns his single eye, not knowing if he had gone too far that time by toying with Ink's souls all night, him who surely did not remember anything because of the drugs...
