"How are you so calm about this?" Asked Philipa who came to wish Rowena luck (luck... Luck can't get us out of this, we need a plan and some sort of miracle) on the trials later that day at noon, "I visited Abigail and she was scared out of her mind poor girl."

Abiagil knew what she was doing all right, Rowena remembered what she saw... But so did Rowena. She had a plan, it was fail proof.
Almost.
90% fail proof.
okay 85%.
60%? Depends...70%...
But close enugh, the odds were in her favor.

"Poor girl? You got me and Abigail into this mess" Rowena scoffed.

The first time since Rowena has known her, philipa seemed to have a tiny hint of uneasiness and guilt, but of course it was blocked out by her everlasting expression or superiority, boredom and annoyance.

She would like to think that Philipa had some kind of tragic backstory to explain her behavior or at least an important motive. Truth be told, Rowena had started to forgive Philipa after she came up her plan. Philipa was stern, hard to read and judgmental but she made good company.
She was the only company she had.

People had started to ignore Rowena and hide from her. whenever she left the house there were whispers, she could see a flash of movement before someone darted away or dove behind a bush.
Nobody wanted to be accociated with the witch.

The impact rubbed on her mother as well, the naiborhood gossip, she was on good terms with everyone and now some of her "gal pals" have distanced themselves from her. They tried to be suttle but mother caught on.

And it broke her heart to see mothers ushering children away from her sister.

Rowena wasn't sure if it will ever go back to normal, it reassured her to see people starting to talk to Philipa. It was few but they waved hello, spoke a bit. But there were still villagers who were cold and standoffish to her.

All Rowena could hope is that her plant wouldn't fail.

And perhaps after some time, things will settle down...
