As the clock hit noon Rowena took a deep breath and stepped into the church at the centre of town. It was sleek and made with work that was polished numerous times on the outside, the inside was wonderfully decorated with modern designs along the walls.

The walls were filled with murals and carvings that Rowena has never bothered on focusing on, but it was a beautiful place indeed.

When you have all the time in the world you seldom focus on the beauty of simple things around them they took for granted.

As Rowena inspected the murals and the stained-glass windows which let colours of all vibrancy and shades in trough. Many people overlooked the architecture with the horrors that happened within it.

Everybody has been to at least one trial, the accused dragged in in tears or in denial and the harsh judgement and treatment. Curiosity and dread filled the room as they all wondered if they were next.

Rowena got escorted to a room on the west side of the church by the looks of it, two of the judge's employees. She locked eyes with Abigail on the way and quickly turned her head away, she had to speak first, if Abigail spoke, she knew who her accused would be.

"Is there a way I-"Rowena started

"You will not speak."Ordered one of the men. Rowena labelled him...Daniel and the other one was Robert

"How long till-" Daniel shushed her.

"Wait, let her speak..."Robert sat her and Abigail down on a wooden bench.

"H-how long till the trial?" Abigail asked

Daniel and Robert quarrelled over if it was twenty minutes thirty minutes.

"Okay, we get it."

Both men looked at Rowena, Daniel was slightly taller but Robert was more muscular. Robert was slightly more introverted and stuttered as he spoke.

"What's your story?" Asked Robert directing the question to Abigail and Rowena.

Rowena paused. And Abigail asked why they needed the information suspiciously retreating back into the corner of the room.

"W-we get a lot of people here, w-what is your plan?" Stuttered Robert

Daniel grunted"You two are strange...Most people break down after them minutes."

"Its been eight." Rowena pointed out.

Daniel was right, around ten minutes in, Abigail went from pacing the length of the room to biting her fingernails to sobbing.

Rowena tried to comfort her but Abigail cried and cried, she could feel the despair radiate off her.

Abigail's cries stooped and her breath hitched as footsteps approached.

The door creaked as the person on the other side of the door snuggled to open it.

Abigail whimpered as the door started to creep open. The door let out a high-pitched wail...

"It's the time!" Said a childish voice and it took a second to figure out the said person was a child, no older than ten. He had grey pants and a dark blue shirt with ruffled hair and hazelnut eyes.

"N-now?"Abigail said between sobs."li-ike r-ight now?"

"Yes sir!"Said the boy with a cherry tone, Rowena scowled at the inappropriate tone of voice. The boy looked over "Yes...ma'am? Well anyways! Follow me!" He said and then bounded out the hall.

"Who is that?"

"We don't know." Said, Daniel.

"He is an orphan." Added Robert.
