Chapter 9: The Truth

3rd Person's POV

    (Y/N) is just looking at Inari with wide eyes, she will now find out the truth about her parents. She do feel empty and like something is not right about Inari's stories before about her parents. Some things doesn't make sense at all, and now she will find out.

   "I will start from the very beginning, a hundred years ago there's a clan that the Gods favor the most. This particular clan respects and always pray to every Gods no matter where they are and who they are. They don't treat any God differently from the other. They always give gifts, they always honor them. This made the Gods happy, they are happy on how they act. People might always see that there is one God that is stronger than the other, but they are wrong, Gods just have different ability from the other, they are at their advantage depending on their ability and situation, and the Gods saw that making them be blessed by a very special ability.

This ability allows them to call out for the Gods whenever they are in need. This made the whole clan happy, but of course the Gods are still testing them, if they will be greedy or not. Though there is a one thing you need to do to summon one God, you need the special paper that Kukunochi, the God of trees plant himself. They will make the paper itself using the trees that Kukunochi plant. After the tree is planted, they created the paper Kukunochi told them how to do the summoning. First, you will write the name of the God you wish to summon on the paper, Second, fold the paper in half vertically, Third, fold again the paper in half horizontally, then Finally, you will place the paper in your mouth and blow on it. After this, the God you wish to summon will appear right in front of you.

   Of course, this clan never use this on their advantage, they never became greedy, instead, they only call upon us Gods when they really need our help. This of course made us Gods happy. The Natsume Clan never became greedy towards the blessing they receive, they act humble towards it. But of course, some people got envious of this. Some of the neighboring clan became envious of the blessing the Gods gave the Natsume Clan. They burned the village that the Natsume Clan resides in, even the tree Kukunochi planted. They can't summon us Gods to help them, we are busy ourselves tending to other people, our patrons, some spirits help but it was too late, all we see are ashes. This made the Gods furious and curse the Clan who did burned them with jealousy. But we didn't know, some member of the Nastume Clan were able to escape.

    Years pass, not even one Natsume had ever been heard of. Not even a single one, they had been able to conceal their identity by changing their names. I was roaming around the forest in Kyoto, when suddenly a couple stumble upon my shrine, I saw them having kneeling down in front of my shrine, praying. I was surprised since it's been a long time since someone offer their prayers to me. When I came close, they look at me and kneel down in front giving their thanks for letting them in the forest. For their nice gesture, I let them have a rest on my shrine. I was surprised on the man's words. He said, "Inari-sama, do you know the story about the Natsume Clan?" He asked, I just look at him since it's been a long time since I heard that name. I did told him the story, the favor of the Gods, the blessing ability, the Burning everything. After my story, I look at the man and saw him crying, I was surprised since I didn't expect him to cry. His wife only hugged him to comfort him. And that's when the man said that his from that Clan, I was shocked to say the least. He told me that her father told him to never tell anyone about his identity for this will only cause him to die, but he told me since he trust me. I didn't notice that his wife is actually holding a child, a baby girl, that's you. I ask them what they are doing here, and they told me they run away, the family of the girl is against their relationship, and they also found out about the man's true identity since they over heard the man's story when he is telling his lover. They plan on killing the man and making the baby a slave, or if they deem the baby useless, kill her. This cause them to run away to protect you.

    They told me their story, I was only listening, the girl's family is from the Clan of know Jujutsu Sorcerers, I heard about them, but never bother to know them. The girl told me her Clan's technique and everything. I was confused as to why they are saying this, and that's when I know something is wrong. I felt someone, no, some people enter the forest, this are the people who is looking for them. They give me their baby and told me to protect it. I told them I can just kill those people, but they told me, it will never end. The man gave me a paper and told me to bring the baby there, they will saw someone who can take care of her. Since I respect their wishes, I run away to the destination that the man gave me and bring you with me. I just found out the next day from the spirits in the forest that the couple die. I told them to give them a proper burial. I found the location in Sendai, that's where I see Mirai, your aunt which is actually another Natsume, your father's sister. I told her the situation and she burst in tears. She just hold you close and swear to always protect, I told her that I will do it as well, as your parents last wish.

    Your real name is Natsume (Y/N), but to protect you we changed it into (L/N) (Y/N), your aunts fake last name that she decided on. Your mother's real name is Inumaki (M/N), she is from the Clan of Curse Speech user. This is the reason why you have curse energy in you. Your ability to summon Gods is from the ability of both your parents. The blessing ability of your father, and your mothers curse speech technique. This is the reason why when you call out to one God, they will suddenly appear."

Now that (Y/N) thinks about it, there is one incident when she call upon Raijin, the Thunder God and suddenly, he appears right in front of you, you were only 8 that time. That scared you a little, this is also the time Inari suspected about something in you and recall the information your parents told him.

    "This explains the curse energy in you (Y/N), the reason that your blindfold freak asshole dumbass sensei (Gojo) and that emo spiky haired tall beanpole kid (Fushiguro) didn't notice is because I hide them myself, though some seep out and this cause some of the curses to be lured in, don't worry I killed them." Inari explained. (Y/N) don't know what to say on the last parts, how Inari just insults both Gojo-sensei and Fushiguro with the nicknames he gave.

When the information sinked in her, she started to cry. All this time, she though her parents abandoned her because they don't want her. All this time she thought they don't love her, now she knows that they are gone, the died for her sake. This made her cry more. Inari only wrap his tails on her on a comforting manner.

   "Inari, thank you for telling me this. I'm glad that you told me the truth, I'm so happy, thank you." She continues to cry. Inari rubs his face on her figure, comforting her as she cries.

     "By the way Inari, who is the clan who killed my clan?" (Y/N) asked.

    "It's the Zenin Clan."
