I was at the airport ready for my flight to New Jersey to start at Princeton university

Mum: You okay, sweetie?

Y/N: Yeah, just a bit nervous, I hope they like me over there

Dad: They will, princess

Mum: Have you said by to Jake?

Y/N: Uh, no, I couldn't it would have been too painful

Jake's POV

I drove as quick as I could to Y/N's house before she had to leave for college, as soon as I got there I ran towards the door and knocked and screamed her name, but there was no answer

Neighbour: They're not there, boy

Jake: Do you know where they are?

Neighbour: At the airport, their daughter is flying off to college, her flight doesn't leave for another hour, so if you go now, you might be able to catch them

Jake: Thank you, next stop, airport

I immediately got in my car and drove towards the airport as fast as I could

Airport announcer: The red zone is for loading and unloading of passengers, no parking, attention, please, all red Porsche 944s parked in the white zone will be towed immediately, American air, flight 735 to New Jersey from gate 22, is now boarding

I got to security and the line was packed and there was no way I was going to making it waiting in line

Jake: Excuse me, everyone! There's a girl boarding a plane right now to New Jersey, that I love, if I don't get there in time and tell her how I feel, I may never see her again

Passenger 1: Go get her, son

Passenger 2: Good luck, young man

Security guard: Oh, hell, just go, freeze, bitch!

Airport announcer: This is the final call for American air flight 735 to New Jersey departing from gate 22

I could see Y/N hug her parents before queuing up to get on the plane, but I was too far away to be able to get to her in time, so I grabbed the football from a boy passing

Boy: Hey, shithead, that's mine, give it back!

I threw the ball which ended up hitting Y/N in the head making her turn around

Y/N's POV

I was hit in the back of the head, so I turned around and that's when I saw him, Jake

Jake: Thank God I got to you in time, I'm not letting you go to New Jersey

Airport announcer: This is the final call...

Y/N: Why not?

Airport announcer: ...for flight 735 to New Jersey, if you're finding words to stop a girl from leaving, now would be the time

Jake: I made that bet before I knew you

Airport announcer: Okay, hold it right there, tell me you didn't just quote Freddie Prinze Jr

Jake: Maybe you should get on that plane and go to Princeton, well, if you stay we really only have the summer, then I go to college, we'll spend the occasional weekend together, which is nice, but the chances are, one night I'll get wrecked and have sex with some girl, you'll call me a slut, I'll call you a cocktease and we'll break up, so when you really think about it, what's the point?

And that's what happened, me and Jake both went to Princeton and got our degrees, Jake is now a professional footballer who plays for the Los Angeles Rams, and I am a lawyer working in my dad's and Mr Wyler's firm, Me and Jake are now married after 6 years of being together and we are expecting our first baby, life couldn't get any better
