3rd POV. 10 years ago.

On a snowy night, on Narukami Island, at the foot of Mt. Yougou, there is a father and son, training the way of the sword.

The young boy swings his wooden sword with precise coordination and perfect sequence of attacks. While his father is on a defensive position, figuring out how to counter his son's swordplay.

Father: He's improving every day. His attacks were not this precise and coordinated before.

Father: But now, he won't even let me counter.

Father: Shiro.........I just know that one day.........you'll surpass in the way of the sword.

The father finished his thoughts as he still continued to defend. Until his son, Shiro stepped back, catching his breath.

Shiro: *pant* *pant* *pant*

Father: You almost got me there, but......

Father: Now, it's my turn!

The father rushed to his son with wooden sword ready but the son anticipated this and flawlessly evaded his father's sword.

Father: Wha—

Then Shiro points the tip of his wooden sword on his father's back.

Shiro: Father, you taught me that you should always know thy enemy.

The father smiled as he puts his hands up in the air, admitting his loss.

Father: Alright, alright. Hehe.

Father: This is the very first time you defeated me in our sparring sessions.

He turned around at his young son, kneeling to his level.

Father: Shiro, remember, the way of the sword is not to take a life but to protect the people you care about.

Father: You are a gentle soul, Shiro. Just like your mother, your mother is a gentle soul and is loved by the people of Inazuma.

The young boy asked his father.

Shiro: Father, you said that mother passed away when I was born, what was she like back then.

His father stood up, held the hand of his son and walked towards their house as he narrates the story about his mother.

Father: Your mother is known for her beauty and elegance. She is known as "like an amethyst crystal" well, she had a lot of suitors.

Father: A lot of suitors asked her hand for marriage, but she rejected them.

Father: It doesn't matter if that suitor came from a noble family or not.

Father: I thought that even though I am from the Minamoto Clan, I know I had no chance.

Father: And then, one fateful day.......

Father: She was attacked by one of her suitors whom she rejected.

Father: I saw what is about to happen, but I jumped in and saved her.
