Shiro's POV. At the foot of Mt. Yougou.

After the Traveler finished the first phase of the Anti-Raiden Shogun training, he took a rest and Paimon asked Lady Miko.

Paimon: So, Lady Yae, how come you know so much about the Raiden Shogun?

Yae: Hmm, you mean me? It is because I am the Electro Archon's servant.

Paimon: What!? Like Dvalin to Barbatos? Never would've guessed by looking at you.

Shiro: Well, she is a fox envoy and the Head Priestess of the Grand Narukami Shrine, of course she would really have a close connection to the Electro Archon.

Yae: Hehe, I guess they would've been more persuaded if they see me in my fox form.

Aether: I'd like to see that.

Lady Miko gave them a smug face.

Yae: In your dreams.

Paimon: Ugh........

Yae: But Shiro here saw me in my fox form a few times now.

Paimon: Then why don't you want to show your fox form to us if Shiro saw it!?

Yae: Well, Shiro knew me for a very long time. In fact, when he was still such a baby, his father will bring him to the shrine and ask me to take care of him.

Aether: Must be hard raising a child, huh?

Yae: I never had any problems with Shiro. He is a very curious kid back then.

Shiro: I always remembered that you and the shrine maidens will ask me for help.

Yae: You were really a great help to us.

Yae: But you also changed since that day..........

Yae: The fact that you hide your pain with a smile.........

Yae: Shiro, it is not healthy for you to do that.

Paimon commented.

Paimon: Why does Lady Yae talk like a mother to Shiro?

Yae: I helped his father raise Shiro.

Yae: Since Shiro never met his mother, I became somehow his mother figure.

I smiled.

Shiro: And I'm really grateful for Lady Miko for treating me like her own child.

Aether: But you were adopted by the Kamisato Clan, right?

Shiro: That's right. My father instructed me and the last remaining servant in our household to take refuge at the Kamisato Estate.

Shiro: I guess my father knew that if he instructed us to go to the Grand Narukami Shrine, the soldiers could've easily spot us and kill us.

Shiro: Not to mention, it will compromise the safety of the shrine maidens.

Yae: Asahi really thought about it even in the middle of a crisis.
