Chapter 3 - songwriter

It was around 4:45 and Claire had just finished her work and was now sitting under the same tree that Wilbur fell out of with her songwriting pad in her lap. She just had a breakthrough and was so focused on what she was doing she didn't notice a certain someone coming her way.

"What cha writing?" "Jesus Christ! Oh my- your highness," she said quickly before bowing her head. Wilbur let out a laugh before saying, "Come on, you don't need to bow, and please call me Wilbur." Claire looked up at him with a shy smile 

"So, what are you writing?" He said sitting down next to her. "Oh that's nothing," she said quickly, closing the book in her lap, "oh come on, you're clearly writing something. And correct me if I'm wrong but I believe I saw music notes, and as a songwriter myself I would love to see it if it is a song,"

Claire hugged the book to her chest, "well yes it is a song, but I haven't got any words yet but I have an idea on what the lyrics are going to be about," she said shyly. "Well, can I see it? I really would love to see it, you never know, maybe I could help!"

Claire looked over at Wilbur before reluctantly giving him the book. She hid her face as he looked through it. She could hear him humming the tune as he read through the song. "Wow that is a beautiful melody," he said, Claire looked up from her hands slowly. She meets wilburs eyes. They were soft, and his brown eyes looked back at hers.

She looks away and says, " that's a lot coming from you, thank you," she smiled, "well I wasn't lying, and when it's done I would love to hear it."

"I-oh no I c-can't sing," Claire stuttered, " nonsense, I heard you humming the other day and that alone was great." At his words she covered her face with her hands in embarrassment, "yo-you heard that?"

He chuckled, "yeah, don't be embarrassed, I'm sure you have a beautiful voice," Wilbur smiled.
