Chp.2: Grey Terminal

Neil's POV:
Waking up to yelling isn't really a nice experience, but lately it's becoming the norm.
"BOSS! He went after Ace again!"
"Luffy! You have work to do here!! The rotten kid never listens!"
It's been about ten days already and that Luffy kid is determined to become friends with Ace.
But Ace doesn't even talk to him.
Curious and bored, I follow after them sometimes, purposefully lagging behind as to not be seen.
Though I only ever see Luffy stumbling and tripping into dangerous and weird situations.
But he loses sight of Ace every single time, yet in spite that, he just keeps trying day after day.
Sighing to myself, I get the feeling that this won't be stopping anytime soon.
And I was in fact correct.
One month, two months...
On rainy days, on windy days...
He just kept trying desperately to follow after Ace.
And everytime he comes back, he's always sporting new injuries.
In the third month, I decided to follow after them again.
It was raining and I was hiding myself atop a tree, standing on a branch, watching as Luffy frantically looked for Ace.
There was a rustle, Luffy, thinking that it was Ace, excitedly turned to the sound but..
...Unfortunately for him, it was a huge tiger.
Seeing the beast, Luffy was paralysed with fear, he couldn't even will his legs to move.
Scared for the younger boy's life, I stood up from my spot, trying to think of way to help so that Luffy wouldn't get eaten.
In the corner of my eye I saw Ace on the edge of a cliff behind a bush, looking as though he was ready to step in when needed.
I calmed down, realizing that Ace wouldn't leave the kid to die.
Turning my attention back to Luffy, my eyes widened when I saw a huge wild bear suddenly appearing behind him.
