May Queen's Sister

Part Two

(No specific POV)
While Dani was in her apartment trying to convince herself that Christian was too good for her bullshit and that he was right about the Terri situation. Christian was sitting in booth of a grubby little pizza parlour with his group of friends; Mark, Josh, Pelle and Dani's twin sister Anna who was currently in the bathroom.

"Dude! you need to stop sitting on the fence with this." Mark tells Christian
"But what if I end up regretting it a week later, and then I can't get her back?"
"You don't want her back!" Mark tells him.
"I might!" Christian argues back.
"So then you can bitch to us for that week about how much you regret it, and we'll be like "Dude! You've been wanting out of this absurd relationship for the past year," and you'll be like " oh shit, that's right" and then you can find some new chick who actually likes sex and who doesn't drag you through a million hoops a day."

Christian thinks about what Mark said, about how he made a lot of valid points but still Christian was still conflicted.

"Do you think a masochistic part of you is playing this drama to distract you from the work you actually need to be doing?" Josh asks Christian.
Christian turns toward Josh a bit offended by what he said, "And what work do I actually need to do, Josh?"
"Uhh - you prospectus maybe? I dunno. Your PHD...?" Josh questions him.
Christian is about to respond when their waitress brings them over the group's check.
"Whenever you guys are ready." She tells them, flashing Christian a smile before leaving.
Mark turns to Christian after catching the encounter, "Dude. You could be getting that girl pregnant right now."
"And don't forget all the Swedish women you can impregnate in June." Pelle tells them.
"Impregnating who now?"
The group of 4 turns their heads to see an annoyed Anna staring back at them who clearly heard the end bit of their conversation. Josh quickly scoots out of the booth so Anna could scoot in next to Pelle who than wraps his arm around her as she leans into him.
"Nothing love" Pelle tells her before kissing her forehead.
"You're lucky I love you" she tells him before leaning up and pecking him on the lips.
Before turning to Mark with a glare on her face.
"But you I have no problem breaking your nose if you continue to talk crap about my sister."
Mark quickly puts up his hands in a form or surrender as Josh chuckles at the exchange.
Everyone falls silent when they hear Christian's phone ring.
"Who is that?" Marks asks him.
Christian doesn't respond.
"That's not her again? Seriously?"
"Shut up Mark!" Anna hisses.
Christian lets the call go.
"That's ridiculous, dude She needs a therapist." Mark tells him.
"She has one."
"So she should be calling him! That's insane, dude. She's using you." Marks exclaims.
Anna clearly having enough of Marks trash talk towards her sister leans across the table and grabs ahold of Mark's collar pulling him towards her.
"I will only say this one more time, shut up about my sister or I break your nose."
Mark turns his head to the others hoping for some assistance from either Josh or Christian, knowing that Pelle is already on his girlfriend's side.
Josh just laughs at him, "you brought this on yourself man."
Christian's phone starts ringing again and to no one's surprise it's Dani.
"Oh my God." Mark groans internally as he knows saying it out loud will definitely result in a broken nose.
Christian picks up the phone and scoots out of the booth for a little bit of privacy.
"Hello?" Christian asks but all he gets in response is an anguished moan.
"Dani?" Christian asks again this time with worry in his tone.
Christian's worried tone sets off alarms bells in Anna's head.
"Hey Christian what's she saying?"
"...no,no,no,no,no,no,no..."
"Sweetheart? What's going on?"
Anna grips ahold of Pelle's hand as she waits for Christian to finish talking with Dani.
"Don't worry love I'm sure it's nothing too serious" Pelle whispers in her ear.
"So, what is it?" She asks Christian.
Christian stares at her with pity in his eyes before asking, "Did you bring your phone with you?"
"Yah but it died earlier, why? What's wrong"
"You're going to want to come with me" is all he tells her.
