Enyo had to tell her followers that she'd had to retreat from her confrontation with Diana, and then asked Daisy to circulate among them to assess their reaction. Having done so, Daisy, speaking to Enyo in private, assured her they'd taken it well. "None thought Diana would be a pushover, they're still confident you can lead them to victory. May I give you my thoughts on this?"

"Please do."

"Diana didn't out fight you she out thought you. You'd demonstrated your superior strength by throwing her around the beach, so, if we presume that she was sure her bracelets could stop your lightning bolts, she goaded you with taunting of how she slew Ares, and, please don't take offence, you fell for it."

Enyo stared at Daisy. "Do you have any more to say?"

"You knew you could take her apart with your bare hands, but you kept trying to force your lightning past her defence until you could do so no more."

"You mean I was arrogant."

"No. You let your fury dictate your actions, I'd guess because you so desired to burn Diana in front of her allies. You could have ceased the lightning before it tired you and just broke her neck, or something similar. I have a saying. Never fight with anger but with purpose."

Briefly Enyo was silent while Daisy waited slightly anxiously for her response. "Daisy," Enyo now addressed her, "you're the first mortal with the nerve to advise a god, and you're right. My anger, my hatred of Diana and my refusal to accept that anyone short of Zeus could withstand my lightning stopped me doing what I'd intended, to kill Diana." She laughed. "When you're the goddess of war victory in a fight is usually easy, so I may have been complacent too. I won't make the same mistake again. Are our troops ready for action?"

"Yes."

"Then we go."

As her forces approached the ranch in the Arizona desert where Diana awaited them, Enyo checked with Daisy that the preparations they'd planned had been implemented precisely. "We've got eighteen Amazons on one ex-army lorry, dressed in red tunics so we don't confuse them with Diana's lot, who'll probably be in white." Explained Daisy.

"They have their swords and shields?" Inquired Enyo.

"They have. Our women of earth, in the other five trucks, are dressed in jeans and stuff, each with the same red boots that the Amazon's wear. Oh and the boots have steel toecaps, so a kick from them will hurt!" Daisy grinned at the thought.

"Good, " smiled Enyo, "we want to hurt!"

The goddess, withDaisy beside her, was driving a Dodge Challenger Demon, chosen on account ofits rapid acceleration, which she thought they might need to take advantage of."And our troops all know the plan

Upon reaching their destination the trucks all turned side on to the ranch, the alighting women and Amazons taking cover behind them, waiting for Enyo to make a path through mines by exploding a few with her lightning, and the goddess stepped out from the Dodge with that intention, though she first looked around to see if Diana was near. Amazons, equipped with bows, arrows in place, she saw, but no sign of their leader. She released a bolt to the deafening sound of thunder and watched in astonishment as the lightning bounced around the poles circling the ranch. "Somethings absorbing the lightning." Enyo shouted to Daisy, who, still in the car, said she'd deal with it. Taking the driver's seat the woman drove the vehicle forward, then jumping out to leave the cars momentum to keep it moving till, as Daisy expected, it ran onto and exploded two mines. Enyo, clad in her usual red dress, quickly stepped in front of Daisy to protect her from any arrows that might be aimed at her, as indeed several were, the goddess brushing them aside.
