Chapter 2

Xitang town
Wei ying reached that town with wen ning.The town was big enough but not as much of the capital.Xitang town was known for its herbal plants but now lack of herbal was big problem.

They visited many herbal shops asking the price.
The new price was tenth time of the last price, not every family could afford it.

They were passing by the this city's ruler's mansion when they saw many farmers protesting there in front of the mansion.

"Why would you sell the plants you have bought from us so higher than its real price?!"
"Yes how can we afford it!!!!!"
"Our plants are ruined why don't you listen to us?!"

Farmers were crying,shouting out of compulsion.
"My daughter is sick,I can't afford to buy the herbs with knew price!!!!
After sone time, guards came and hit them cruelly with sticks.

"The ruler said:don't make noise here.It is none of his business." One of the soldiers said while pushing an old farmer.Farmers afraid of their life walked back,the old farmer who was pushed away was still on ground couldn't stand up.

Wei ying hurriedly went by his side.
"Uncle! Let me help you!"
The old man looked up"Thank you!"

Wei ying picked him up piggyback seeing he even couldn't walk.
"Uncle ,where do you live?!"
"Go from this side young man!"
"Why did they hit you?!"

The farmer sighed" we are all herbal plants farmers but a month ago all of our herbs were grown rotten.We are all living by selling this herbs or for curing diseases we use them.Suddenly,the price increased so much and we could not afford to buy it.My daughter is sick.but I can't buy herb for her.We asked the ruler of Xitang to decrease the prices but he is just a corrupted ruler not listening to us and hitting us every day."

Wei ying and wen ning were listening cautiously.
They reached the farmer's house,an old house with rotten woody roof.A old woman got out of it and saw them.

"My god, did they hit you again?!"
"Wife, don't be worry.we need to first find herbs for our daughter !"

Wei ying put the uncle inside and saw the lying unconscious little girl.

"Wen ning, go and buy from that herbal plants for this little girl"wen ning bowed and went as fast as a wind.

Uncle turned to wei ying " young boy !Thank you so much!"He wanted to bow to Wei Ying but he didn't allow the old man.

"Uncle, please don't bow to me.It is so unfortunate these things happened .It is lease I can do."

After a while ,Wen ning came back with a pocket of herbal plants.He gave it to the man and woman.They were crying happy tears and thanking them.

"Uncle! Can I ask you to show me the farms?"
"Sure but we can't go now it is getting darker outside.They came to farms when it is dark."
"What do you mean " they" ?who are them?" Wei ying curiously asked, focusing seriously.

"They are ghosts who came and destroyed our farms.They come when it is dark.Sometimes, strange voices are heard from farms.We wouldn't dare to go out night time!" Old man fearfully told him.

Wei ying looked at wen ning, they didn't need a word they knew something was suspicious here.
