Chapter 2 | Planning

I walked into the office, my eyes immediately searching for my future father-in-law.

"He's in his office," Chan, my future brother-in-law, told me. I guess he saw that I was looking around.

"Thank, Chan-ah," I smiled to which he nodded.

Y/N's family is really something else. They are all very protective over her, not that I blame them of course. But ever since the death of her mother, and her being the only female in the family, her father and her brother keep a close eye on her at all times. So it's not at all surprising that they are still a little cold towards me.

Y/N keeps telling me that her father and brother are supportive of our relationship but I just don't know. They look at me as if they're waiting for me to slip up and make a mistake and hurt Y/N, which will never happen.

If soulmates existed in the human species, I'm beyond confident that we are soulmates. From the moment I saw her, I knew that she was my person. It was as if every inch of me was aching to be with her as if she was my source of life. At times, I really do wish that we had the ability to find our soulmates just like hybrids. Then I could lay the worries of her brother and father to rest.

I let in a deep breath before moving to knock on the office door. My eyes glance over at the small plaque that signifies the owner of the room and the entire facility: President, Bang Sihyuk.

"Come in," I heard his voice from inside the room.

I swallowed hard as I walked into the office.

The first thing I saw was the piles of papers that were stacked on his desk. He was nose deep in some sort of document that I couldn't quite read. He had a frown on his face as he was reading the papers.

"Sir?" I managed to make my voice sound strong.

"Here," Sihyuk sighed as he gave me the piece of paper he had been reading.

My eyes skimmed down the paper. I grimaced as I saw that one of our undercover agents was found murdered in some alleyway. I knew of him. I remembered that he was very zealous and very invested in the work of hybrids.

"I think they suspected that he was a spy," Sihyuk informed me.

My jaw clenched as I saw the picture of his mutilated body.

"He wouldn't have told them that he was working for us," I told him, trying to keep my anger in check.

Sihyuk nodded. "But we are the biggest pro-hybrid company in Korea. They probably suspect that it was our doing. You know what that means, don't you?" He looked up at me.

"Yes, sir," I nodded. It meant that the raid might not happen or that there will be a bloody fight with lives lost.

"What do you think?"

"Pardon?" I asked, shocked that Sihyuk was asking for my opinion on something as big as this.

"You're going to be my son-in-law, aren't you?" He asked with his eyebrow raised.

"Yes, sir," I said quickly and firmly.

"Well, I know Y/N isn't going to take over for me and Chan is more interested in the tech side of the company and has zero interest in becoming the next president of Hybe, so that leaves you, doesn't it?" Sihyuk asked with a small smile. "What do you think we should do? Forget the raid or risk losing some of our men and women?"
