I was so full. I can't remember the last time I felt this full from eating. It was so satisfying that I felt like I could just curl up and sleep for the next day or so but I didn't want to sleep. My eyelids felt very heavy but an amazing scent drifting into the cafeteria snapped my eyes open. My head zeroed in on the source of the scent. My mate. I smiled as I saw her coming into the cafeteria. She looked really tired, but she seemed to be glowing. She turned and looked in my direction and gave the biggest smile. She hurried over and I couldn't help but sit straighter getting ready to stand up to give her a hug.
But I seemed to have forgotten one simple thing. She didn't know that she was our mate.
She just passed me and engulfed Seokjin in a hug. He gave her a kiss on her forehead, and I couldn't help but watch in sadness. I wanted to be in a relationship with her and him as well. They were my mates. I wanted to hold them too, but Yoongi and Hoseok looked at me with a warning look. I pouted at them and they shook their heads. I sighed before turning my attention to our two human mates.
"You look tired," he spoke to her lovingly. It made my heart jump, I wished that he would speak to me in that kind of voice.
"I am," she agreed but still gave him a very beautiful smile.
"I saved some Pork Cutlet for you," he said as he motioned to the plate that had some food.
He got it early, almost as soon as we walked in. The servers told us that the Pork Cutlets were going really fast, so he asked for two plates. At first, I didn't understand, but seeing this now, I completely get it. He wanted to make sure that she had something to eat after a long day. I looked at Seokjin with awe. He was truly in love with Y/N, it was something that should have been obvious. If he was our mate and she was our mate, then he was her mate too.
"You are a beautiful man, oppa," she said after she gave him a kiss on the cheek. Then she quickly took a seat next to Seokjin and across from Jungkook. Seokjin looked really smug for some reason before sitting back down and putting an arm on the top rail of her chair, behind her back.
"Y/N, did you try this?" Jungkook quickly jumped into a conversation with her. He showed her the Banana Milk that we got as a dessert.
"Do you like it?" She asked with a kind smile on her face.
Jungkook nodded with so much force that his ears were flopping around. I could see that she was biting back a smile, just like how we do when Jungkook does something really cute without realizing it.
"It's so good," Jungkook smiled widely. "I wanted more but they didn't have any left."
"That's because you drank 10!" Jimin exclaimed with a shake of his head. "Really, you need to learn to be patient."
"But they're so good," Jungkook whined.
"How was the surgery?" Hoseok quickly interjected.
"It was long, that's for sure," Y/N responded. "But I think the lynx hybrid is going to be alright."
"What made you want to become a doctor for hybrids?" Yoongi asked. I was curious about that too so I turned to look at her.
"Hm," she paused to think. "I think I always knew I wanted to be a doctor of some sort. Chan, my brother, always came home with cuts from playing on the playground with the other kids. Dad was always busy with work and mom was ill ever since I was little, so I kind of took it upon myself to make sure that he was okay. I really liked how he would always smile and stop crying when I put a band-aid over his cuts. So I knew I wanted to do something similar when I grew up."
"That's amazing," I breathed.
"Thanks," she giggled with a faint pink on her face. I thought she looked even prettier with a little colour on her face.
"I think it's really cool that your entire family is taking care of hybrids," Jimin piped up.
"It's more than just her dad and her brother," Seokjin added. "It's basically all her extended family too."
"Really?" Yoongi asked, his eyebrows raised.
"Yeah, you'll meet my cousin soon," Y/N said with a smile. "She's really cool, she's really gonna like you." She looked at Jungkook, and his face immediately became a shade redder. "She loves bunny hybrids."
"Is she scary?" he asked, his voice slightly trembling.
"Uh...kinda," Y/N admitted. "She just doesn't take nonsense, and she's very comfortable in her body and with speaking her mind. So you might be slightly intimidated by her. But once you get to know her, she's sweet."
"Oh, good," Jungkook nodded.
As Y/N was finishing her meal, we got to know her and Seokjin a lot more. I could really tell that they loved each other. There wasn't a single moment when they weren't touching. It was either him brushing the hair away from her face, giving her small kisses on her face, or holding hands. I was jealous. I knew I shouldn't be, but I was. I wanted to have that relationship with her as well. Him too. But it would just have to wait, and that was going to be the most difficult part.
