Chapter 1

" Please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and their headmistress Madame Maxime! " Rain Scarlett watched her classmates make a dramatic entrance, they skipped to the front of the great hall, magic butterflies flying off of them. She followed after her mother Madame Maxime or the headmistress of the school, Rain didn't wear the school uniform but rather plain clothing that consisted of a pair of jeans and a black long-sleeved turtle neck. She walked alongside her mother, arms crossed and hair pinned back. Once they had reached the front of the great hall the students cheered, Rain found herself standing next to Fleur Delacord, her only friend at the girl's school. " And now our friends from the North, please meet the proud sons of Durmstang and their headmaster Igor Karkarov. " Fleur had watched the students make a more dramatic entrance than Beauxbatons did, they did flips, made fire with their staffs, and ended the entrance with the appearance of Victor Krum. The Hogwarts students had cheered loudly, standing from their seats.

When the feast was over the schools were all told to go their separate ways, and Beauxbatons was off to find their carriages where they were to sleep. Although Rain found herself wandering away from the group, she entered the courtyard where many Hogwarts students were, there they were chatting about the upcoming Tri-Wizard Tournament some even looked her way and whispered. " You know, you look nothing like your mother. " Rain jumped at the voice that whispered close to her ear. Her body whipped around to find the culprit. A male, he was tall and had yellow robes. " How did you- " He smiled the tiniest bit and let out a small chuckle. " It's a bit obvious, isn't it? " Rain shook her head no. " Well the walking beside her at the entrance ceremony and you're not wearing your uniform, surely most headmasters wouldn't let that slide. " She let out a small breath she held, amazed just a little. She hummed. " She's my adoptive mother actually, that's why we don't share characteristics. "

" Wow, I apologize. Cedric Diggory is the name. " He held out his hand for her to take, she looked unsure at first but slowly shook it. He had adjusted his leg and smiled. " Would you like a tour at all? " She furrowed her eyebrows, glancing around the courtyard. " A tour, why? " He turned around to stare up at the huge castle. " Hogwarts is a big school. there are places that are forbidden for students, you could get lost. " He turned around to stare at her yet again. " Why not? " Cedric seemed overjoyed, he interlocked their arms and he led her back into the castle.

" And this place is? " They had traveled down many stairs and corridors and finally landed on one of their final locations, Rain had dazed out most of the tour but slowly began listening once more. The corridor they were in was cold and was covered in stone. Candles were faintly lighting up the hallways though it was dark. " This is where the Slytherin common room is. " Cedric explained, Rain had looked over at the entrance to the common room. " Can we not go inside? " Cedric ran a hand through his hair. " Well since I'm a member of the Hufflepuff house I cannot enter other common rooms without consent. " Rain let out a small sigh, though she noticed a boy nearing the common room, wearing green Slytherin robes. " Hey! " She jogged towards the boy, stopping in front of him.

" Can I tour your common room? " He lifted an eyebrow at her. " Sorry. I'm Rain, I'm from Beauxbatons. " The boy had dark skin and a shaved head. " Blaise Zabini. " He said in amusement. " So, about the common room? " Rain had said, hopefulness filled her voice. " Sure, let me just. " He turned towards the entrance. " Pureblood. " Suddenly the wall formed and a passageway appeared. She was amazed, it looked so cool. She glanced at Cedric and smiled before following Blaise Zabini into the common room. She smiled at the sight of it. It was green, everywhere, cold since the room was located under the black lake, but held warmth. Many Slytherin students were located inside, many talking to their peers, some looked her way and scanned her up and down with judgment in their eyes. " Zabini, where have you been? " Rain had looked at the blond nearing their way. " Was talking with my new friend. "

Rain shrunk back, her new friend? She barely knew the boy though she didn't hate the idea, she didn't have many of those. " Is this her? Hey, you're from that girl's school. " The boy smiled at her, stuffing his hand in his robe pockets and holding out the other. " Theodore Nott. "

" Rain, Scarlett. " He hummed. " Pretty name for a pretty girl. " He winked at her, a teasing smirk on his face, Rain's face flushed red at the comment. " Make yourself comfy Darlin, we will be on our way. " Theo and Blaise had both walked towards the fireplace, they joined a few girls who all instantly clicked and began conversing. Rain had begun to observe the room, it was littered with paintings of many people, many she assumed held great meaning to the school. She went to walk past a staircase leading upward but a male had begun to emerge from the doorway causing the two to almost run into one another, Rain luckily stepped back quick enough to avoid the interaction. " Watch where you're going. " The boy snapped, Rain just scoffed. " Say, I've never seen you before, who are you, and why are you in my common room? " His voice was demanding, the boy was blond, very tall, and held gray eyes. She just scoffed, scanned him up and down, and returned the rude attitude. " Who are you? " It came out nasty. Blaise, who watched the interaction from the nearby sofa had quickly stood up. He laughed awkwardly and jogged to stand between the two.

" Malfoy this is Rain, she's from the girl's school. " Rain had her eyebrow lifted and her arms crossed over her chest. " Rain, Draco Malfoy. " Rain scanned him and narrowed her eyes so it was unclear about what she was thinking. " You should watch your tone, Malfoy. " Was all that came out, Blaise chuckled awkwardly and Draco scoffed. Rain had stepped away and chose to get back to Cedric. She muttered a small thanks to Blaise and exited the common room. Cedric stood against the wall and picked at his nails, once the stone shifted and Rain emerged, he had fixed his posture quickly. " How was it? " The two walked side by side, choosing to leave the dungeons. " Lovely, for a little. "

" You must've met Malfoy. " Cedric chuckled, he slipped his hands in his pockets. Rain instantly turned her head at the name. " He has a reputation here? " Cedric nodded, the sweet smile he held still on his face. Rain cleared her throat. " Well, anyway, let's go look at your common room, I'd love to see it. "
