She never once apperated with her mother, and she wasn't old enough to do it herself. So when they reached the gloomy Malfoy manor in a quick apparition transportation, she nearly threw up from the nausea she felt in her system. She had to shake off the dizziness she felt as she gripped her luggage in her hand and stood in the main hall of the large manor. She's never been inside a home so big, but the bigger the home, the lonelier it felt. She glanced at Draco from beside her and then went back to observing her surroundings.

" Sir Draco, let me take your luggage. " Her eyes flew down to the few house elves that came running to them within seconds. " Madam, let me escort your luggage to your quarters. " She had never seen a house elf up until she snuck into the Hogwarts kitchen right beside the Hufflepuff common room. She looked down at the creature, smiled, and crouched down slightly to hand off her baggage. " Thank you for your help. " The elf looked astonished at her kindness and bowed its head. "Oh, you're welcome, kind girl. "

" Draco, your mother is waiting in the living room. " Lucius had made another turn and exited the room quickly, his cane clicking against the dark flooring. Lucius hadn't said nearly a thing to Rain other than sending her a judgmental look upon arrival. She could sense his coldness in him, and it made her shrink under his gaze. " Rain? " Her eyes fixated back on Draco, who held out his hand for her to take. She did so hesitantly and let out a breath she didn't know she held. He led her towards the so-called living room after exiting one room after another, she'd get lost in such a big home. " I don't think your father likes me very much. " Rain admitted as she followed after Draco with hands held. " It's okay, my mum will love you. " He pushed past one more large door that creaked as the old wood opened. Inside was a lit fireplace with a woman sitting nearly right beside it. She read a novel with her legs crossed and drinking tea.

Her eyes flashed up from her book before a happy smile flashed on her face. Rain didn't expect such a reaction; she didn't know what to expect at all. " Ah, Draco! " She dropped her book beside her, standing up swifly to take Draco in a hug. His hands slowly wrapped around her to hug her back, and a small smile lifted his lips as he did so. " You've gotten taller. Just look at you! " Rain couldn't help but smile at the sight. Narcissa Malfoy was the complete opposite of Lucius. She was so welcoming and warm. Rain's eyes observed her surroundings. There were frames on the fireplace and paintings hung up in the large living area; it was gorgeous and gloomy. " You must be Rain. " Her eyes traveled back to Narcissa, who let go of Draco and proceeded towards her. Rain felt overwhelmed for a slight second, almost freezing at her approach.

" It's so finally nice to meet you! I've heard so much about you from Draco here. " Draco sheepishly sent her a shrug from behind his mother and just over her shoulder. " It's lovely to meet you too, thank you for inviting me. I would admit I was a bit surprised at first. "

Narcissa grabbed her hands in her own. " Now, hun, I got the most gorgeous dress for the ball, I think you'd look dashing. Let me fetch it for you. " She let go of her hands and left the room quickly to reveal the dress for her. " Your mother is lovely. " Draco tried to hide his happiness, Rain walked towards the fireplace where several picture frames were sitting. " Is this you? " She chuckled, young Draco, face stony and slick back hair. Rain looked at another frame. " Is this your mum? "

" Her and her best friend. " The two women were very pregnant and happy, sitting next to each other in elegant dresses. " Elizabeth Scarlett. " Rain's head quickly went to look over at Narcissa, who entered the room once more with a box in hand. " We met at Hogwarts, She was a lovely girl. "
" She's beautiful. " Elizabeth died at childbirth. She learned this from Hermione Granger. " That she is. She was the most talented person I knew. Incredibly smart. "Rain's lips lifted at the thought of the woman, She sounded like an amazing wizard. " Here's the gown, I hope you'll love it. "
