Prologue
(For advance information, the main character is a gong (top), so don't be confused in the next chapter, okay? )A few snowflakes were falling and compressing into a pile of snow. Traces of footsteps marked the pile of snow, followed by pants and cries.
"Let me pass through!!!"
A young boy who looked like he was six years old pushed aside the people who were grouping around the foot of thousands of stairs up to the Yun Sect. The young boy was wearing a luxurious green robe filled with pure gold jewels with golden dragon embroidery. A maid followed behind him as he tried to pass through the people around him.
After a few pushes and shoves, the young boy was able to pass through the group of people, but he was blasted by a blue barrier as soon as he tried to take a step on the thousands of stairs. The young boy stubbornly stood up again and tried to take another step, but an old monk carried him and put him away on the blue barrier.
"Father! Father!" the young boy kept crying, trying to call his father, who was inside the Yun Sect.
The monk stared at him with an apologetic look and only patted his head. "Child, you can't pass through the barrier. The three renowned cultivators are nowhere to be found. The others said that they had traveled somewhere far across the world. Yun Sect cannot be saved anymore. And so is your father."
( Yun means cloud in Chinese. )
"No!" the child cried again. He tried to approach the stairs stubbornly, but the monk held on to the back of his collar.
"Child, you will die if you stubbornly enter the barrier. We cannot fight against the Frost Demon, nor can we subdue him."
The maid had successfully passed through the groups of people and held onto the young child. "Young Master, stop! Madam is looking for you! It's dangerous and cold now that it's winter season! Let's go back, okay?"
The young child pushed her away and yelled, "No! Father is up there! Father is the one in danger! There's a demon up there!"
The maid glanced anxiously at the monk as if she were asking for help. The monk only sighed and crouched down on the young boy. A warm golden light emerged on the monk's fingertips, and he tapped it on the young boy's forehead, making him turn drowsy and immediately fall into a deep sleep.
"Many thanks, Honorable Monk. This humble one will not forget about your kindness," the maid said, cupped her hands with a bow, and then carried the young boy in her arms.
The monk smiled at her and replied, "No, it is just a normal thing to do. The child is traumatized too much; I pray that Buddha will guide him."
"Many thanks again, Honorable Monk. This humble one will take a leave now." The maid bowed once again before running back to their manor.
"What is happening up there?"
"There's too much stench of blood..."
"Where are the three renowned cultivators? Why aren't they helping Yun Sect, Master Shao Ling?"
"I heard that the Darling of Heaven's parents died, and he cut ties with the Yong'an empire, then traveled somewhere."
"What about Mount Hua Peak Master Lim Yuan? I heard he had a good relationship with Yun Sect Master Shao Ling."
