16.Yeji's problems

*Emily's POV

"Ring! Ring! Ring!" - I got a call in the morning.

"Hello?..." - I said with a sleepy voice.

"Emily, sorry for calling you this early, but Yeji is sick, so can you tell Ms.Bae?" - Hyunjin said. I sat straight up.

"She's sick?! How is she now?" - I worried.

"She will be fine, probably overworked. I already called my class teacher that I will be absent today to taking care of her." - he said.

"Ok, I will tell Ms.Bae, but can I visit you guys after school over?" - I asked, I really worried about her.

"Sure. I'll send you the address, see you." - he said.

"Ok, bye!" - I hung up.

I got change, I need to go to the Ms.Bae office early, cause Ms.Bae will be there before class starts. I knocked on Changbin door

"Oh, you ready? So early today! I was about to go to the parking area to take the bike and call you." - he said while opening the door and saw me.

"Yeji is sick, I need to talk to Ms.Bae." - I said.

"Omg, how is she?" - Changbin asked.

"Idk, but Hyunjin is taking care of her and later I'll visit them, do you want to come?" - I asked.

"Sure, let's go to school now." - he said and I ride him to school.

*At school

Knock! Knock!

"Ms.Bae?" - I said when I knocked on her office door.

"Come in." - she said and I walked in.

"Emily? Sit! Can I help you?" - she asked while I sat down.

"Uh- I come to tell you that Yeji is absent today, I don't know if this allow are not because we need parents to confirm." - I said, maybe there must a reason why Hyunjin told me to do this.

"She's sick? Oh no...ok, I'll handle it, thank you for telling me." - she said.

I want to ask her this, I know is wrong because is a personal information but maybe she knew, she knows everything.

"Ms.Bae...do you know something about her." - I asked.

"...I do. This is not something that I can tell to someone...but since you are her best friend. Her mom lost in an accident, leaving her and Hyunjin to take care of their younger brother. Their dad...went with another woman, Yeji has to take care of her younger brother, went part-time job, study...is not easy for a 16 years old girl. Luckily, before their dad leave, he left some money for them, enough for studying..." - She said, let out a deep breath.

Yeji, she been through all these things? I never notice, she always optimistic around us, but behind is all of these things?

"Don't tell anyone about this, I'm sure she doesn't want anybody to be worry." - she said, I nodded.

"Tell her that I'll handle things for her, don't worry... you can go back to class now." - she said.

I stood up and bowed to her then went back to class with my mind full of wonders and words that Ms.Bae said earlier.

*Breaktime

"Let's go, Innie!" - I heard Changbin said while I was laying down to my desk, I didn't even bother to look.

Later, I felt a hand patted my head, I looked up and saw Changbin.

"You alright? You look tired." - he is looking at me with those soft eyes.
