The sun set in the west
A girl lay by her family
With a bouquet of flowers on her chest
And a song played mellowly
As the day went to restThe girl's life was a mess
Her parents threw the marriage away
Mom hated her, but dad liked her less
And when they went astray
She was left with nothing but stressOn weekends she was dad's worry
Weekdays she spent with mom
They sent her out in a hurry
Each time felt like a nuclear bomb
And she knew they'd never be sorryDad easily got mad
She did things he disliked
And he hit her when she was bad
The worst was when her hair was spiked
You'd have never seen a girl so sadMom plain ignored the poor teen
Her attention was in another place
She always felt unseen
Feeling like she only took up space
If only her parents hadn't been so meanThe girl couldn't take it one day
She ran from her house
Went quite far away
Scurrying like a mouse
To put her issues at bayThen she came across a tree
Where she became a wreck
And she could barely even see
As she strung the rope around her neck
And whispered, "Now you'll notice me."
