A girl with her friends fakes a smile
Brightly smiling and laughing
Coping with everyday life
Days and days pass by as she struggles
Each time they don't notice her lies
For once she doesn't show up
Goes in her room and locks the door
Hopes someone actually cares
If only one text it'd be okay
Just one, she pleaded
Kept her phone by her side all day
Left alone, no messages
Mascara covered her face
Never had she been so upset
Only this time she knew what to do
Put everything on hold
Quitting what she was doing
Racing into the other room
Slowly looking through her things
Taking a razor out of the drawer
Using it to break
Veins inside her arm to feel better
Will they notice now
Xoxo she carved
Yet somehow she knew
Zero people would notice her pain.
