They were under-prepared.

It was expected that Atobe would go after Echizen. What they did not expect was Atobe to lunge forward and kick the small boy right in the stomach as soon as the round started. The force from the kick pushed Echizen back to the edge of the ring away from the others. Atobe followed and kept trying to land kicks.

The others were in such a state of shock and worry they were not prepared for the rest of the other team to separate them.

Inui found himself along with Kaido against Mukahi and Hiyoshi.

It was probably unintentional as Kaido was next to Inui when the round started towards the end of the lineup. Mukahi had cast a spell and a wall of wind separated them from the rest of their teammates.

It wasn't the worst match-up in Inui's opinion but it was not a part of their plan. For the most part, Inui and Kaido were doing well to block or avoid Mukahi's attacks. The fairy was the main attacker at the moment. Which confused Inui because with the fairy's element being wind he was more suited for Support. They had assumed Hiyoshi would be the one attacking, but other than noticing him follow Mukahi in the beginning they haven't noticed him at all in the last few minutes. It wasn't like the Data he prepared.

Mukahi was quick to get off the ground and fly above them using his wind magic instead of his wings. He then sent a wind slice towards Kaido. Kaido rolled out of the way toward Inui. "Inui we need to come up with something, otherwise I'm going to run out of stamina.'

Inui kept thinking. With Mukahi in the air, it will be difficult to land any attacks. He did a mental check of any weapons on his person. Oh, that could work.

"Kaido I need you to grab his attention and move away from me. For this to work, I need him to not notice my movements." Kaido nodded and continued to slowly separate himself from Inui without raising attention.

Inui got out his needles and aimed. Mukahi was still throwing magic at Kaido. It looked liked Kaido said something to piss the fairy off. Just as he was about to throw the first one he felt pain in his legs. He turned his head and noticed Hyoshi. Damn, he forgot about the other one. Falling to his knees he turned his body and threw the needle at Hiyoshi.

Hiyoshi jumped back barely avoiding Inui's attack.

"Hmm, we were told to be wary of you. Good thing I stayed back to watch." Hiyoshi said. He then grinned and rushed Towards him again."

Inui barely had time to get back up before Hiyoshi landed another kick to his back. The force threw his body a few feet away. Inui's hands were on the ground and he coughed a few times. His mistake for being so off guard. Although Hiyoshi was fast, very fast. It's hurting them that they do not know what type of Hybrid he is but it definitely had something to do with speed.

But Inui was prepared for speed. It was a weakness of his they started training before this match.

He closed his eyes and controlled his breathing. He focused on all his senses. He felt the different vibrations from his feet, the movement of the wind on his skin, and heard the sounds of a battle to his left. Sorting through each sensation and using his knowledge he was able to pinpoint the telltale signs of Hyoshis movements.

He would have to thank Echizen for teaching him this.

He opened his eyes and quickly blocked the Kick aiming for his back.

Hiyoshi paused in surprise and that was all Inui needed to Stab a needle into the boy's side. Hiyoshi jumped back and fell to his knees.

The paralytic poison worked quickly once in the bloodstream.
