When I got home from school I went in search of my aunt. I started to call out my aunts name when I stopped in in front of her bedroom door, but I stopped myself because I heard her talking to someone she must have been on the phone, so I put my ear to the door and listened. She must have them on speaker because I can hear their conversation from the hallway. I think she's talking to her friend Jessica.

"How did you get stuck with her anyway again?"

"I didn't get stuck with her. I just decided to take her in. It's a pretty long story that I don't want to discuss. I got to go before this girl gets in here."

"Okay girl."

"Wait."

"What?"

"Can you make it to my party in two weeks on Saturday?"

"Yea, girl. You know I'm coming through."

"Wait, what about your niece? Who is going to watch her while you are gone? This is a whole weekend deal."

"She will be okay she old enough to watch herself, she cool."

"Alright, see you later girl."

"Bye." She hung up the phone, I then thought of having my friends over that weekend since she will be gone and then I heard her coming to the door so I knocked.

She swung the door wide open. My aunt was standing there looking at me with a glare. She has a peanut butter color skin tone and has a short hair cut.

"What do you want Angel?" She asked with a little snap in her voice.

"I just wanted to let you know I was home."

"Okay, I know now. Please go and do some homework or something. I need a nap." She said about to push me out her room.

"Can I have a kick back here?"I asked her while stopping her from moving me out her room.

"It depends on who is coming over."

"Tasha and Mike, that's all. Please aunty. I promise we won't mess up the house." I had to try the puppy dog face on her which usually worked. Even though she hated when I would do it.

"Fine, but don't bother my liquor. I know teenagers tend to get into their parents liquor stash. I know because I was your age once too."

"Okay aunty we won't." I was on my way to my room and then she stopped me.

"Wait, when are you trying to have this kick back thing?"

"I want to have it in about a few weeks from now." I said momentarily looking down at the ground and back up at her with a fake smile on my face. She looked me in my eyes for a few seconds I guess to see if I was hiding something.

My aunt always thinks someone is scheming and plotting. It gets so annoying sometimes. She then side eyed me and walked away from me while I still stood in her room close to her door looking at her.

"You can go now." She said while lying down on her bed. I smile one last time at her and closed her door behind me. I skipped my way to my room happily.

When I entered my room I immediately got on my phone and called my friends. The first person I called was Tiff. "Hello."  She answered on the fourth ring.
"Hey, girl."

"Hey what's up?"

"My aunty is going to this party in two weeks from now on the weekend and I wanted to invite only my close friends over to have a little movie night/ kick back."

"Okay cool, but I have to bring my cousin. She a little shy though."

"Okay that's cool."

"Oh you should invite the new boy Marcus."
