After I got out the shower and brushed my teeth I was dressed in a Pink sweat suit and put on some plain all white socks, since I wasn't going anywhere.
I put my hair in a messy bun on the top of my head. I prepared myself for the conversation I was going to have with my aunt.
I walked out of my room and straight to the kitchen and sat down at the table waiting for her to place my food in front of me. It was just moments later when she sat my food in front of me.
She cooked pancakes, turkey bacon, hash browns and eggs. We ate in silence for a few minutes until she broke the silence.
"How is the food?" she asked.
"Good," was my only reply.
I didn't want to wait anymore so I just came right out with the question.
"What did you want to talk to me about?" I asked her.
She got up from the table and went into the living room and came back out with a folded up piece of paper in her hand. She sat it down in front of me and sat back down in her previous seat and finished eating.
"What is this?" I asked while she took my plate and her plate and put it in the dishwasher then sat back down.
"Unfold it and see."
I did just that and was shocked to see my dad's information on the paper.
"Why are you giving me this now?" She sighed. I'm guessing to prepare herself for what she was about to tell me.
"I want you to have a relationship with your dad," She looked to me for a reaction but I just looked at her and waited for her to continue.
"I know you're probably going to be mad at me after I tell you this but he came by this morning-"
"I know." I said interrupting her.
She looked at me shocked and surprised but mostly confused.
"So, you knew he was here and you weren't going to ask about him or why I didn't come and get you?"
"Well, I was going to wait and see if you were going to give me his information he left for me or not. When I walked in the kitchen earlier and I seen that paper in your hands, I thought it was my dad's information. When you folded up the paper and put it in your jean pocket, I decided I was going to confront you about it."
"Oh," was all she said.
"What made you change your mind about me seeing him because this morning you surely didn't want him to see me."
"When I was cooking I thought about how I grew up without my dad and I don't want the same to happen to you. I felt really bad for telling him, he can't see you. He did tell me he was starting to go to meetings but I didn't believe him at first and that's one reason I kept it from you. I also kept it from to protect you so if he fell off you wouldn't be hurt by him again. I don't want you to be like me. I realized a lot of stuff this morning. I sleep with different men to try and have a connection with a man due to lack of connection I had, well have with my father. Don't end up like me Angel."
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For giving me a chance with my dad and also for taking me in. I know you would rather not have me living with you but I really appreciate it. I love you."
With that I got up and walked out of the kitchen to my bedroom with my dad's information in my hand anxious to call him. I also wanted to know what that other piece of information was she hid from me but I will deal with that at a later time.

Phone conversation
Roger-Hello
His familiar voice boomed through my cell phone. I was a little scared by his strong authoritative voice. I wonder if that's how he sounds all the time or if he is just doing that to intimidate others over the phone.
Roger-Hello
He said louder and with an annoyed tone. It scared and startled me to the point where I jumped and dropped the phone on my bed that I was currently sitting on. I retrieved my phone quickly before he decided to hang up instead of staying on the phone waiting for me to reply.
Angel-Hello, Is this Roger?
I asked stalling because I was scared to tell him who I was even though I already knew it was him.
Roger- Look whoever this is I advise you to stop playing on my phone.
Angel- I'm not playing on your phone sir, or well dad.
It got super quiet on the other end. I thought he hung up until I heard shuffling.
Angel-He-hello
Roger-Angel, is it really you?
Angel-Yeah, it's me.
Roger- I can't believe I'm talking to you right now. It's been so long since I have seen or heard from you. I thought about this moment so many times but I imagined it was in person but this is just as good.
I chuckled at his rambling.
Angel- Dad you are rambling.
Roger-I'm sorry sweetie. I'm just so excited to hear your voice after so many years. I want to see you. Can I come pick you up and we can go out to eat and catch up.
Angel- I would love that.
Roger-I will pick you up at 7. Be ready by then.
Angel-Okay, I will. Bye.
I hung up and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in. I was relieved I got that over with. I'm excited for our dinner date. I have so many questions to ask him and he has a lot of explaining to do.
