"So, you feel like he doesn't want you to go on the trip?"

Me and Tasha were chilling on her bed talking. I had told her about everything that happened yesterday with Raquel and meeting his family.

"Yeah, his whole vibe was just off when his mom brought it up."

"He is definitely hiding something."

I scrunched up my face before replying, "Hiding what though?"

"Girl, I don't know. But forget about him for a second because I have some big news." She got really excited and started jumping up and down in her seat. I couldn't help but laugh.

"What, what is it?" I asked wishing she would just simply tell me the news.

"So, you know how I have the greatest mom in the world, right?"

"Okay." I said as more of a question than a response.

"Well, she got us a flight and a hotel to go down to Miami Beach!" She started jumping up and down but now this time literally jumping.

"Oh my gosh!" I squealed, I started jumping with her.

"I see you told her." Tasha's mom walked in with a smile on her face.

"Okay girls, start packing. We leave for the airport in three hours." She walked off and left us to our packing.

We were done packing in no time. I was helping Tasha zip up her suitcase when her mom walked in announcing that the taxi was outside.

••••

We pulled up to the hotel and I was in awe. Her mom spared no expense with this hotel. It was at least a thirty story high hotel. They had a bellhop get our bags while we went to check in.

The hotel was beautiful inside. They had big crystal chandeliers in the lobby with beautiful red leather couches and chairs to match with silver glass tables, black decor and a black, white and red carpet to pull all the colors together.

"Girl, this place is bomb as fuck." Tasha exclaimed, bringing me out of my day dream.

"Watch your mouth Tasha." Her mom scolded her before walking up to the desk so we could get checked in.

In the meantime we sat down on the nearest couch to wait. Her mom was soon walking over towards us with two key cards. I was a little confused because I assumed we were all staying in one room.

"Momma, why do you have two key cards? This place is expensive. You didn't have to get us separate rooms."

"Oh, yes I did. I got other plans and I don't plan on sharing a room with y'all hormonal asses. Now, check in with me every two hours and be back in your room by 10pm and I will come to check on you both. Have fun and be safe."

With that me and Tasha were left to go crazy.

We went up to our rooms and got settled in. I started picking out a bikini to wear to the pool area while  Tasha was showering.

I settled on a white two piece with pink pineapple prints all over the top and bottoms. I pulled out my toiletries and sat on my bed with my phone in hand debating on whether to text Raquel or not.

I started getting into my feelings remembering what happened the other night. I wondered if he was mad at me or if he thought I was mad at him. I was so confused and quite frankly a little upset because I don't feel like I did anything wrong.

I laid back on the bed feeling defeated by my own thoughts. If this is what it would be like being with him I didn't want any part of it.

"Oh, no you will not be up here in this nice ass hotel, in this nice ass city, moping and over analyzing a situation over a dude that ain't even yo man." Tasha burst out the bathroom demandingly, already knowing where my mind was wondering.
