"So, back to the hobbies thing. I like to listen to you guys, and some other bands, I like to swim, I love to read and write, sing, draw, and basically sit in my room alone with the internet, and no friends. Unless you count when my sister is home, then I hang with her." I explained.
"Do you have any friends?" Mitch asked.
"Not much, but a couple..." I said.
"We'll be your new best friends. We'll always be here for you. I can't believe an amazing girl like you doesn't have many friends. You deserve friends like us." Mitch said. I stopped walking, and hugged him. Sparks flew everywhere. I was falling, and falling fast.
"Thank you." I whispered in his ear, then kissed his cheek. Even more sparks. I'm pretty sure he felt them to, because he stood there, astonished.*Mitch's POV*
"Do you have any friends?" I asked.
"Not much, but a couple..." Dani answered. I feel weird that she has no friends. She could've been popular, only if she showed her hidden talents.
"We'll be your new best friends. We'll always be here for you. I can't believe an amazing girl like you doesn't have many friends. You deserve friends like us." I said. I watched her stop walking, and she probably didn't think before she did this. She knew it was bound to happen sooner or later. She hugged me. Sparks jumped inside of me, but I hesitated to hug back at first. But I still did.
"Thank you." Dani whispered in my ear, her breath brushing against my skin. Then, she did the unthinkable, to me. Shekissed my cheek. Even more sparks jumped around inside of me, ready to explode. I just stood there, amazed. What does this girl do to me that I can't see or think about? I don't know. Maybe it's the fact that she's different. I touched my cheek with two fingers, and I felt a soft mark where her lips had touched. I started smiling. Oh, god. I was falling, and falling fast.*Dani's POV*
I watched him standing there for about a minute, and then began walking backwards, but towards my apartment. He had a suprised look spread across his face, but it began to fade. He, ever so slightly, pulled two fingers to his face, and felt his cheek, where I had kissed him. Then, he smiled. I smiled at the thought of him, you know, liking it. Then, he finally turned around and noticed me walking backwards towards my apartment.
"Come on slowpoke!" I said, just above normal talking.
"Coming!" Mitch replied back. He started jogging towards me, and I realized he wasn't going to slow down. I turned around and began running around in the field. It was dark outside, and I was wearing slightly dark clothes, so you could barely see me. I ran behind a tree and saw Mitch running around like a chicken with its head cut off. When he got close enough to the tree I was behind, I jumped out and screamed "BOO!"
"AHH! Holy shit, Danielle! Please don't do that again! You nearly scared me to death!" Mitch said, in between laughs. I ran up to him, and tackled him to the ground. "No fair! I wasn't ready!" Mitch ranted.
"Well, princess, life lesson right here. Life isn't fair. It never will be." I whispered in his ear. He took that one second window to roll over and pin me to the ground. "Hey!" I squealed.
"Quote on quote, your words; 'Life isn't fair. It never will be'." Mitch quoted me. I put my arms around his neck, and I hugged him, again. I did this to get him off his guard, but still, whenever we touch, I feel like the Fourth of July times a million. He sat up, and hugged me back. I took that chance to flip him over, again.
"Rule #1, uno, of battle, never let your opponent distract you." I said, getting up off him. I put out my hand to help him up, and he gladly took it. I helped him up, and then he started laughing. "What's so funny?" I asked, laughing at the end.
"Nothing. It was just a distant memory." Mitch said, shaking his head.
"So, do you actually want to go to my apartment now?" I asked.
"Yeah, let's go!" Mitch said, running off in the other direction.
"Wrong way!" I screamed at him.
"Oops?" Mitch said, more of a question.
"Yeah, it's this way." I said, running off in the opposite way.
"Wait up!" Mitch yelled, smiling. I turned around and saw him running towards me. "Let's walk the rest of the way." He was out of breath.
"Okay, I agree. Let's go." I said. I started walking and Mitch fell a little behind, but not to far.
"Mitch?"
"Yeah?" Mitch answered.
"It just got to quiet and awkward. The silence is killing me." I said.
"I know." Mitch sighed. We walked in the eerie silence until we got to my apartment. Then I broke it.
"So, yeah. This is my humble abode. Would you like to come inside?" I asked him.
"Sure, Dani. I would love to come into your abode." Mitch answered, smiling. I opened my sliding glass door and walked inside, with Mitch following suit. "So.... what do you want to do?" I asked.
"I don't know, but since it's pretty late, maybe watch a movie?" Mitch asked.
